The scene has hugely shifted to be far more receptive of this brand of melodic, adrenalised punk, and for a band who\u2019ve largely been ignored outside of their native Spain, <i>\u2019Daily Ritual\u2019<\/i> could see things finally kick off in a big way.<\/p>\n<p>They certainly should anyway, as this is a really solid punk album through and through, played with an effortlessly cool \u201890s sensibility and a real sense of distinction that paints <b>Blowfuse<\/b> as their own entity. Frontman Oscar\u2019s snide, sneering voice does that on its own, but with clear sideways glances at bands like Jane\u2019s Addiction on <i>\u2019Bad Thoughts\u2019<\/i> and <i>\u2019Sunny Daze\u2019<\/i>, there\u2019s an inventiveness that really shines through.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Blowfuse - Angry John (Official Music Video)\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/svoSwLbFsj4?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Of course, that doesn\u2019t mean they\u2019re averse to embracing straight-up punk head on, and with the flavours of hardcore in the double-time drums of <i>\u2019Grand Golden Boy\u2019<\/i> and <i>\u2019Change Your Mind\u2019<\/i>, it\u2019s a tad less interesting but the excitement is still there. There\u2019s a malleability to this album that\u2019s incredibly refreshing, coupled with scratchier punk production and colour to the execution that really makes these songs pop.<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s more, it\u2019s an incredibly easy album to like across the board. There\u2019s punch, energy and melody in spades, and <b>Blowfuse<\/b> bring a sense of character in a way that hasn\u2019t been seen in any punk album thus far this year.
