Returning with their first full-length in three years, <em>&#8216;Peach Club&#8217;<\/em> most certainly marks a new beginning for the Kentucky quartet. It could be easy to put them down for abandoning their roots and taking a different course, but <em>&#8216;Peach Club&#8217;<\/em> doesn&#8217;t deserve such harsh treatment. It&#8217;s too damn fun to hate.<\/p>\n<p>From the outset, <em>&#8216;Givin\u2019 Up&#8217;<\/em> and <em>&#8216;Don&#8217;t Cry&#8217;<\/em> set out <strong>Emarosa<\/strong>&#8216;s intentions by producing a big, glossy pop-rock banger drenched in an 80&#8217;s R&amp;B groove.\u00a0Throughout <em>&#8216;Peach Club&#8217;<\/em>, synth-pop blasts with a strong nostalgic spine that proves to be beneficial for all involved. For example, <em>&#8216;Cautious&#8217;<\/em> sparkles with crystal keys and\u00a0Bradley Walden&#8217;s fittingly smooth vocals. While<em> &#8216;So Bad&#8217;<\/em> confidently rides a bright, new wave, and<\/p>\n<p>Still songs such as <em>&#8216;Hell Of It&#8217;<\/em> show they still have a rock-driven edge with its domineering drums beating the under riding\u00a0synths. Likewise, <em>&#8216;Help You Out&#8217;<\/em> subtly bridges the gap between the band&#8217;s past two,\u00a0Walden-led, albums, leaning towards the harmonious rock side of things.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Emarosa - Givin&#039; Up (Official Music Video)\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Shmt5YnF40A?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Partly\u00a0due to Courtney Ballard&#8217;s bold production, there is a radiant energy that, for the most part, runs through <em>&#8216;Peach Club&#8217;<\/em> with the occasional drop to offer a moment of reflection.\u00a0<em>&#8216;xo&#8217;<\/em> reins things in, allowing\u00a0Walden&#8217;s sincere voice to take centre stage through its balladic delivery.\u00a0Although the bubbly and spacious<em> &#8216;IW2DWY&#8217;<\/em> (&#8220;I want to die with you&#8221;) is conceivably a step too far.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you call it a quickfire &#8220;cash grab&#8221;
