Since their formation in 2016, the quartet&#8217;s brand of melancholic alt-rock has seen them share stages with Taking Back Sunday, Marmozets and Fatherson. The four-piece made up of\u00a0guitarist and singer Marius Vieth, bassist Max Zdunek, drummer Michael Reihle and lead guitarist Martin Gundt, have continuously developed their sound, embracing elements of shoegaze, grunge, and post-punk to create raw and explosive soundscapes.<\/p>\n<p>This week they will embark on a UK tour alongside fellow countrymen, The Deadnotes. With shows expanding into Europe afterwards, the tour will take in 15 cities across seven countries.<\/p>\n<p>So as they prepare to spend many hours on the road between shows, <strong>Kid Dad<\/strong> have compiled a playlist of songs that they&#8217;ll be repeatedly playing in the van over the coming weeks. For me, it was always important that music is at least two things: authentic and meaningful. The Deadnotes fulfilled not only this but created an own, unbelievable heartwarming and energetic sound no one should try to copy. Join us on tour, we will definitely stand in the crowd watching them night after night after night!<\/p>\n<h2>Fatherson &#8211; The Rain<\/h2>\n<p>This has the best bass riff of 2018, and probably the most amazing voice we were able to hear live from touring with them last year. I love when artists take their time to show you the full beauty of a song, Fatherson proves this with some very special songs.<\/p>\n<h2>Bryde &#8211; Fast Awake<\/h2>\n<p>It covers my whole body in goosebumps every time the chorus hits in. I love hearing emotional weakness in vocals. This song proves that singing is better than crying.<\/p>\n<h2>Razz &#8211; Could Sleep<\/h2>\n<p>When we toured with these guys last year, this song stuck in our heads for weeks after the tour. Modern, soulful and raw pop with beautiful darkness lingering in the background.<\/p>\n<h2>ASIWYFA &#8211; A Slow Unfolding Of Wings<\/h2>\n<p>There are songs that are not in need of having vocals because the instruments speak for themselves. ASIWYFA is a perfect example of this. Funny story: our tour van on the support tour for ASIWYFA made the exact same sound as in the intro every time you tried to put the broken radio on. Every time we tried turning the radio on again to see if it would work, everyone would continue jamming to the next few bars of the song after hearing the beeps of the malfunctioning radio.<\/p>\n<h2>Moow &#8211; Crank Dat<\/h2>\n<p>A great lo-fi song including a Soulja Boy sample. We listened to this song a lot during the preparations before releasing &#8216;Naked Creatures&#8217; to calm ourselves down in stressful situations and tough times.<\/p>\n<h2>A Day to Remember &#8211; Right Back at it Again<\/h2>\n<p>This piece by the heaviest pop-punk band on earth reminds me of what we are getting ourselves into as an up and (hopefully) coming band. Often you have to leave your comfort zone to achieve your goals.<\/p>\n<h2>King Krule &#8211; Easy Easy<\/h2>\n<p>No drums but a voice as strong as Louis Armstrong&#8217;s. None of us could believe how young this talented man is after hearing the dusty darkness of his voice. If he won&#8217;t quit smoking in the next 10 years, his voice will be deeper than Marianna&#8217;s trench. Amazing voice.<\/p>\n<h2>Red Hot Chili Peppers &#8211; Universally Speaking<\/h2>\n<p>Red Hot Chili Peppers remind us of our childhood days while still sounding timeless. This particular song is one of our favourites because it shows what a fucking unit this band is. Simple song but unbelievably brilliant.<\/p>\n<h2>Mike Posner \u2013 How It&#8217;s Supposed To Be<\/h2>\n<p>His new album, <i>&#8216;A Real Good Kid&#8217;<\/i>, is so intimate and deep, that it caught me right in the feels. The song is one of my favourites especially the drum part at the end.
