With boundaries being far less regimented than they once were though, the rise in real, raw music can\u2019t be understated, and the scene has been all the healthier for it.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, that relies on these bands actually being good, a factor that\u2019s hardly a problem on <i>\u2019Lost In The Noise\u2019<\/i> considering that <b>Modern Error<\/b>\u2019s visceral, cinematic post-hardcore is the sort that\u2019s easy to get lost in and tough to escape from. It helps that there\u2019s a palpable darkness and edge here as well, with the crushing angularity of <i>\u2019Buried And Blue\u2019<\/i> and <i>\u2019Blackout Poetry\u2019<\/i> complementing Zak Pinchin\u2019s breathless screams excellently, and a blackened production job highlighting how oppressive and forceful everything else is.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Modern Error - Separation Scars (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/MYtPbwCnnic?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It certainly helps that the thematic resonance is as strong as it is; falling down a dark, toxic spiral that reaches a particularly potent climax with the two reworkings of <i>\u2019Funeral Verse\u2019<\/i> and <i>\u2019Separation Scars\u2019<\/i> to close out. The former\u2019s meshing of melancholic synth and abrasive passages does work well, but it\u2019s the latter that really shines. Contorting itself into snarling, seething industrial noise that\u2019s evident of a band that still have plenty to offer and plenty of ways to branch out.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s perhaps where <i>\u2019Lost In The Noise\u2019<\/i> succeeds the most; it might only be short, but it\u2019s a tantalising snapshot of a band with mountains of potential that they\u2019re already doing a great job of living up to.
