Subject matter wise, <em>\u2018Regulars\u2019<\/em> is a classic party rock album. When listening to <em>\u2018Regulars\u2019<\/em>, you can\u2019t help but reminisce about being a teenager, drinking and partying into the early hours.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u2018Freaks\u2019<\/em> is a short and punchy anthem that calls all outcasts to band together and celebrate their individuality. This feeds directly into <em>\u2018I\u2019m a Regular\u2019<\/em>, the idea of being an outcast is strong throughout <em>\u2018Regulars\u2019,<\/em> <strong>Dead Bars<\/strong> create their own definition of what it means to be \u2018regular\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dead Bars<\/strong> manage to create a sound that is rough around the edges and sounds just like a live record. With the use of guitar feedback, it sounds familiar to other Seattle bands from decades past.<em> \u2018Time Takes Away\u2019<\/em> shows this un-polished sound with simple instrumentation and growling vocals. <em>\u2018Rain\u2019<\/em> exhibits the classic Seattle feedback at the beginning, with a crowd ensemble feel.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"I&#039;m a Regular\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/keOxM-aU2A0?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Though some of the riffs sound quite similar throughout the album, <em>\u2018Another Day\u2019<\/em> shows that <strong>Dead Bars<\/strong> can be a little more technically diverse, with a riff that\u2019s a little more complicated. It would be refreshing for the riffs to differentiate a little more though, maybe trying more interesting rhythms perhaps.<\/p>\n<p>It could be said that <em>\u2018Regulars\u2019<\/em> is one dimensional, with many of the tracks sounding similar and not really going anywhere. Though this may be true, it does fit in with the entire vibe of <strong>Dead Bars<\/strong>. The idea of <em>\u2018Regulars\u2019<\/em> is simple, feel-good party music. The lyrics are as simple as the music, as shown in <em>\u2018No Tattoos<\/em>\u2019, where the lyric <em>&#8220;all my friends have tattoos, but I don&#8217;t have any tattoos&#8221;<\/em> is repeated.
