Emerging Guildford quartet The Dabhands<\/strong> are preparing to release their new EP, ‘Bad Apple’<\/i>, at the end of this month. Its title track captures Katie Campbell’s soulful vocals being complimented by stirring instrumentation that borders on indie and alt-rock. While its chorus ignites with urgency, setting the tone for what the rest of the EP has in store.<\/p>\n

“Bad apple is the worst of a bad bunch, you definitely won\u2019t be keeping her down,”<\/em> explains Campbell. “Something for your ears to chew on, it tastes so right and in this case, you can\u2019t argue with a bad thing.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Although the EP of the same name won’t drop until May 31st, we’ve teamed up with The Dabhands<\/b> to premiere the video for ‘Bad Apple’<\/i>. While the rising four-piece could have simply done your standard music video, Campbell encouraged the band to take a chance and go in a different direction.<\/p>\n

“Katie said she wanted to be more creative with it and do something we hadn\u2019t done before,”<\/em> guitarist Ryan Hick tells us. “We teamed up with a friend of ours, who is an animation specialist (Emily Cross) and started developing ideas from there. It was so easy on our part as we turned up, performed the track in front of the cameras, and then all other aspects of the were done by our friend, James Watson. This is definitely our best video to date and I\u2019m glad we raised the bar rather than repeating the same old formula.”<\/i><\/p>\n
