Without a doubt <b>Reading and Leeds<\/b> 2015 has a lot to offer. You might even say too much.<\/p>\n<p>From classic thrash metal to indie folk to pop-punk to grime to EDM to hardcore, <b>Reading and Leeds<\/b> is the ultimate music festival in the UK and this years line-up shows just why. From top to bottom, you&rsquo;re spoilt for choice. However with us being <b>Already Heard<\/b> and us being fans of all things &ldquo;ROCK!&rdquo;, it&rsquo;s no surprise our preview is made up of some of the best and most promising alternative acts to grace the festival this weekend.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b><a href=\"#preview\">Preview<\/a> | <a href=\"#lineup\">Line-Up<\/a> | <a href=\"#stagetimes\">Stage Times<\/a> | <a href=\"#info\">Info<\/a><br \/>\n<\/b><\/p>\n<p><a name=\"preview\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2 align=\"center\">Preview<\/h2>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/60a5815ab0a4449a63aee25f30467f3d\/tumblr_ntk3ruXBUk1r8no6so1_1280.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>Against Me!<\/b><br \/><b>Against Me!<\/b>, to put it bluntly, were bloody brilliant on their last UK tour and the prospect of Laura Jane Grace absolutely owning the main stage while spitting fire and sass has us very excited indeed. No other band hitting the big stage has the potential to put in anywhere near as incendiary a performance.<\/figure>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>The likes of <i>&lsquo;Thrash Unreal&rsquo;<\/i> and <i>&#8216;We Laugh At Danger and Break All The Rules<\/i> will have several thousand people loosing their collective minds while <i>&#8216;I Was A Teenage Anarchist&rsquo;<\/i> is the mother of all festival singalongs in waiting. Arguably <b>Against Me!<\/b>&rsquo;s biggest UK performances to date will be the very definition of must see stuff. (DW)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> Main Stage (Friday 28th &#8211; Leeds \/ Sunday 30th &#8211; Reading)<!-- more --><\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/52828752f6103bb86db5428d79334d0b\/tumblr_inline_ngslsfXKPn1qztcot.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>The Gaslight Anthem<\/b><br \/><b>The Gaslight Anthem<\/b> have already announced their intention to go on hiatus once this run of European Festivals is done. So what more encouragement could you need to see Brian Fallon and the boys go out on the largest stage possible on the Reading and Leeds main stages.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>With a bit of luck they&rsquo;ll pick a set list  drawn mostly from <i>&#8216;The 59 Sound&rsquo;<\/i> and <i>&#8216;American Slang&rsquo;<\/i> and we can all get a bit misty eyed and lost in the gritty poetry and gravel laden soul of Fallon&rsquo;s lyrics and vocals respectively. If the sun could come out at least for a massive singalong to <i>&#8216;The &#8217;59 Sound&rsquo;<\/i> then this particular writer&rsquo;s summer will be made right there. (DW)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> Main Stage (Friday 28th &#8211; Leeds \/ Sunday 30th &#8211; Reading)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/7761dfe1fd81a1973c883dddfc9a8ba3\/tumblr_inline_nbah1qpJoF1qztcot.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>Lonely The Brave<\/b><br \/>\nOne of the highlights of last year&rsquo;s Leeds Festival saw team Already Heard have to pick our jaws off the floor after being blown away by <b>Lonely The Brave<\/b>&rsquo;s R&amp;L debut early in the day in the Radio One tent. Needless to say we&rsquo;re rather chuffed to see them make the hugely deserved jump to the main stage. <\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>If you have any sense you&rsquo;ll join us in basking in the brilliance of the tracks from <b>LTB<\/b>&rsquo;s incredible debut album <i>&#8216;The Day&rsquo;s War<\/i> and witness David Jake&rsquo;s spine-tingling vocal ability debut on the sort of stage it was destined for. Not wanting to big this up to much, but this could be the chance to see future headliners play the mainstage for the first time. (DW)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> Main Stage (Friday 28th &#8211; Leeds \/ Sunday 30th &#8211; Reading)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/e3bbe15bdc15374d374d283407f012bc\/tumblr_ntk43xZ7KN1r8no6so1_540.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>Simple Plan<\/b><br \/>If we&rsquo;re really honest plenty of us let out a good deal of our teenage angst belting out most of <b>Simple Plan<\/b>&#8216;a earlier albums. Now the Canadian pop-punks are making their first return to the UK in years we get to relive all of that only as adults, with a beer in hand and in a festival tent. <\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Here&rsquo;s an excellent chance to remember why one of the mid 00s most hookiest and heartfelt pop-punkers always deserved to be much more then just a guilty pleasure band. (DW)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> Lock Up Stage (Friday 28th &#8211; Reading \/ Saturday 29th &#8211; Leeds)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/0c4eb50f6dc50a0213f24e90e40d3a88\/tumblr_inline_no98x7c2gq1qztcot_540.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>Frank Turner<\/b><br \/>\nReading and Leeds will be the first chance many of us get to hear tracks from <b>Frank Turner<\/b>&rsquo;s new album <i>&#8216;Positive Songs For Negative People&rsquo;<\/i> live, and that alone will undoubtedly see Frank&rsquo;s solo set in the Festival Republic Tent be the most over subscribed of the weekend.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Add into that Frank&rsquo;s solo sets being increasingly rare and these days and we&rsquo;re all set for something seriously special. If he can just close it with <i>&#8216;The Ballad Of Me and My Friends&rsquo;<\/i> then near festival perfection will be reached.<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> Festival Republic Stage (Friday 28th &#8211; Leeds \/ Sunday 30th &#8211; Reading)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/7044ea473ff37135234c0481a593ce68\/tumblr_inline_n6cnimMo5s1qztcot.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>Twin Atlantic<\/b><br \/>Another band we&rsquo;ve previously tipped to be future headliners are <b>Twin Atlantic<\/b>. The boys from Glasgow continue their all conquering march towards the top of British rock via a return to the R&amp;L main stages. Sam McTrusty and the lads were on top form provoking huge singalongs in the Radio 1 Tent last year, but we expect that to be dwarfed by their efforts next week. <\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Last years <i>&#8216;Great Divide&rsquo;<\/i> LP was basically written with stadiums and festival stages in mind, so it&rsquo;ll be no surprise when <i>&#8216;Heart and Soul&rsquo;<\/i> and <i>&#8216;Brothers and Sisters&rsquo;<\/i> sound suitably at home the surroundings. That&rsquo;ll be nothing compared to the reaction to Sam McTrusty, his acoustic guitar and <i>&#8216;Crashland&rsquo;<\/i> though. (DW)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> NME\/BBC Radio One Stage (Saturday 29th &#8211; Reading \/ Sunday 30th &#8211; Leeds)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/5a98f712ea8d91a498b2c71b3191dc3f\/tumblr_inline_npa1wcZeBS1qztcot_540.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>American Football<\/b><br \/>\nSo, it seems <b>American Football<\/b> shows in England are like the proverbial buses. But don\u2019t be fooled, they\u2019ve promised us these shows at <b>Reading and Leeds<\/b> (and a single headline spot in London) will be the last for a while, so you\u2019re urged to make the most of it. That they find themselves on the same stage as Limp Bizkit is a headscratching wonder \u2013 but that variety is the beauty of Reading and Leeds. You certainly won\u2019t catch Mike Kinsella talking about the nookie, that\u2019s for sure \u2013 though, secretly, we\u2019d love it if he did\u2026<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>However, you will get some of the finest, most beautifully crafted, emo\/indie-rock imaginable. If you were lucky enough to catch Kinsella and Co. on their much anticipated May stopover, you\u2019re likely to have been left enchanted by the richness of the material and the group\u2019s ability to recreate it live. For a late afternoon\/early evening set, it promises to be spellbinding. (RM)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> NME\/BBC Radio One Stage (Friday 28th &#8211; Reading \/ Saturday 29th &#8211; Leeds)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/9fea37ae23cf23c3dfc744bdfaef5aeb\/tumblr_ntlxbyIY4v1r8no6so1_1280.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>The Smith Street Band<\/b><br \/>If you\u2019re looking for a new band to check out who\u2019s set is damned sure to see you have an absolute blast, then you could do far worse than spending some time in the company of <b>The Smith Street Band<\/b>.  The Aussie outfit\u2019s riotously good fun brand of folk-punk is pretty much spot on for throwing yourself around to at a festival with a bunch of people who suddenly are your new best mates. Think early Frank Turner meets the best of Springsteen that\u2019s then shot through with punk rock fuelled on Fosters and you won\u2019t go too far wrong.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>We\u2019re certainly pretty excited for beers and singalongs when this lot hit the Lock Up Stage, and even before the festival begins we\u2019d advise you to catch them now before they\u2019re playing the bigger stages in the future. (DW)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> Lock Up Stage (Friday 28th &#8211; Reading \/ Saturday 29th &#8211; Leeds)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/3e0bd1606d91085cf17d1d0798c8091c\/tumblr_inline_nrhr22eCt91t3m09q_540.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>The Menzingers<\/b><br \/>\nYou don\u2019t have to think back that far to a time when The Gaslight Anthem played The Lock Up tent at Reading and Leeds. They\u2019ve now made the jump to mainstage megastars, and if I was a betting man, we\u2019d fancy <b>The Menzingers<\/b> to do the same in the not-too-distant future.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Their sound is certainly heading that way; the rough and ready punk edge smoothed by some killer blue-collar rock, combined with some bloody fantastic fist-in-the-air choruses and lyrics that make you want to hug strangers in the pit. That\u2019s what we want from a festival band, and <b>The Menzingers<\/b> have \u2018it\u2019 with room to spare. Promising huge sing-alongs and plenty of energy, <b>The Menzingers<\/b> are not to be missed\u2026 (RM)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> Lock Up Stage (Friday 28th &#8211; Reading \/ Saturday 29th &#8211; Leeds)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/4909eda70654f1bad4a1e44f6f3c4441\/tumblr_ntk43xZ7KN1r8no6so1_r1_400.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>God Damn<\/b><br \/>\nHaving seen <b>God Damn<\/b> lay waste to tiny stages throughout England, then attack festival stages with the same fuck you ferocity, you\u2019d be mad to miss one of the most exciting acts on the underground circuit. Loud \u2013 and by loud we mean ear-splitting, headache inducing loud \u2013 the duo play blues\/grunge\/noise\/punk that is as primal and exhilarating as you can imagine.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>That there\u2019s only two of them is constantly astonishing; proof that the desire to make a raucous, free-spirited noise isn\u2019t limited to traditional conventions. Instead, settle in with some heavy duty ear-defenders and revel in <b>God Damn<\/b>\u2019s knack for abrasive, tempestuous cacophonies.<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> Lock Up Stage (Friday 28th &#8211; Reading \/ Saturday 29th &#8211; Leeds)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/4aaf9eb68acf44fdd1241765e1a5d595\/tumblr_nq1t5k9rBl1r8no6so2_540.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>Beartooth<\/b><br \/>After destroying Slam Dunk and Download before laying waste on the Vans Warped Tour, you have to wonder if Caleb Shomo and company have anything left in them. But here they are back on UK soil again and ready to deliver an almighty blast of mosh-ready metalcore.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>In recent months they have proved their worth by producing memorable (and almost) festival-stealing sets that leave you battered, bruised and wanting more. Fan favourites such as <i>&#8216;The Lines&rsquo;<\/i> and <i>&#8216;In Between&rsquo;<\/i> are bound to see all those in &#8216;The Pit&rsquo; tent to go into a frenzy. And trust us the moment the opening <i>&ldquo;Woah-oah-oh-ohhhh-oh-oh&rdquo;<\/i> in the latter drops, we&rsquo;ll be right there in the mix. (SR)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> The Pit Stage (Friday 28th &#8211; Leeds \/ Sunday 30th &#8211; Reading)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/8928593685f0c035637b5aa57bef2b16\/tumblr_inline_np2yrwTlAQ1qztcot_540.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>Alexisonfire<\/b><br \/>\nThey say nothing last forever and like most hiatus&rsquo; these days, they don&rsquo;t. But when a band as bloody awesome as <b>Alexisonfire<\/b> decide to get back together and grace us with their presence at Reading and Leeds, we&rsquo;re not going to complain one bit.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>We&rsquo;ll admit we&rsquo;d like to see the Canadian five-piece on a more intimate stage but you know the moment those clattering cymbals <i>&#8216;This Could Be Anywhere in the World&rsquo;<\/i> begin, we&rsquo;ll be grinning like a cheshire cat. Be prepared to challenge Dallas Green&rsquo;s sweet harmonies on <i>&#8216;Young Cardinal&rsquo;<\/i> whilst viciously banging your head in complete and utter joy. (SR)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> Main Stage (Saturday 29th &#8211; Reading \/ Sunday 30th &#8211; Leeds)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/7821d36bf1480b9933c70c65875390a5\/tumblr_nq0b4bMHlW1r8no6so3_540.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>The One Hundred<\/b><br \/>\nThese London rap-infused rockers have been building a strong following over the past 18 months. With several tours and notable festival appearances under their belt, they arrive at <b>Reading and Leeds<\/b> off the back of a very impressive outing at Download.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Their explosive style is sure to feel at home in &#8216;The Pit&rsquo; tent. With electro hints and Jacob Field&rsquo;s snappy vocal delivery, there is no doubt that <b>The One Hundred<\/b> will deliver an energetic set that will make the crowd combust in complete euphoria. And once you hear <i>&#8216;Downfall\u2019<\/i>, you&rsquo;ll still have its chorus in your head by the time you&rsquo;re back at work with the post-festival blues. (SR)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> The Pit Stage (Saturday 29th &#8211; Reading \/ Sunday 30th &#8211; Leeds)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/f4274e6cf6cedf8625f1715424e75c21\/tumblr_nok7pcolfv1r8no6so2_r2_540.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>Pvris<\/b><br \/>\nWhat can we say about one of the most talked bands about of 2015? Having silenced the sceptics with a stellar set at Slam Dunk in May, the Massachusetts trio arrive at <b>Reading and Leeds<\/b> off the back a long stretch on the Vans Warped Tour, where unsurprisingly they were one of stand out acts.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Their brand of alternative pop rock continues to win over fans and critics on both sides of the pond. So much so we advise you to get there early if you want to catch <b>Pvris<\/b>. &#8216;The Pit&rsquo; tent <i>will<\/i> be packed. Trust us. Once you&rsquo;re in, you&rsquo;re probably going to be blown away by the vocal talents of Lynn Gunn along with their arsenal of infectious hooks. <b>Pvris<\/b> are on the way to big things. <b>Reading and Leeds<\/b> is the next step. Will they overcome it? We&rsquo;re pretty confident they will. (SR)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> The Pit Stage (Saturday 29th &#8211; Reading \/ Sunday 30th &#8211; Leeds)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/49d2c82fbcd0e8397cc0929fefdc3530\/tumblr_inline_ntcdz46xe11t3m09q_540.jpg\" width=\"250\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>No Devotion<\/b><br \/>\nForget everything that happened previously with four fifths of <b>No Devotion<\/b> as they are nothing like their former band. Yet with frontman Geoff Rickley subtly continuing the synth-led finale of Thursday, <b>No Devotion<\/b>&rsquo;s <b>Reading and Leeds<\/b> debut comes with much anticipation.<\/figure>\n<p>With <i>&#8216;Permanence&rsquo;<\/i> arriving next month, expect the Welsh-American group to display their mix of post-punk revival and alternative indie rock sound as best as possible. With tracks such as <i>&#8216;Stay&rsquo;<\/i> and <i>&#8216;Permanent Summer&rsquo;<\/i> making us yearn for the album with their strong pop sensibilities, we&rsquo;re interested to see how <b>No Devotion<\/b> are in a live setting. We&rsquo;ve got a feeling they&rsquo;ll be fine and we&rsquo;ll probably walk away wanting to hear the album even more. (SR)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> The Pit Stage (Saturday 29th &#8211; Reading \/ Sunday 30th &#8211; Leeds)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/047e95c1037f2d9509f07d5674a8de8a\/tumblr_nnwgphgmHH1r8no6so2_1280.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>Calls Landing<\/b><br \/>When <b>Calls Landing<\/b> step on to the stage at Leeds Festival it&rsquo;s going to a properly special moment for the boys, their friends, family and long time fans. <b>Calls<\/b> have been one of the best and most criminally under-rated bands in the local scene for years and their debut album <i>&#8216;Heirlooms&rsquo;<\/i> is genuinely excellent stuff and well worth many many spins worth of anyone&rsquo;s time.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>The band may have won the Futuresound comp to make their R&amp;L debuts but they&rsquo;re more then worthy to play on merit and in their own right. Even if you haven&rsquo;t heard of them before, <b>Calls Landing<\/b> will be your find of the festival if you&rsquo;re smart enough to give them a chance. And chaps if you don&rsquo;t close the set with <i>&#8216;Midnight In Millennium Square&rsquo;<\/i> we&rsquo;ll be having some serious words afterwards! (DW)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> Lock Up Stage (Friday 28th &#8211; Reading \/ Saturday 29th &#8211; Leeds)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/cbe95aa5e43b98afc0a4178cfae2feab\/tumblr_inline_nknhtmKD1b1qztcot.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>Manchester Orchestra<\/b><br \/>\nWe&rsquo;ll admit we almost forget about <b>Manchester Orchestra<\/b>&rsquo;s appearance. They were one of the first bands announced for <b>Reading and Leeds<\/b> and have been sneakily hidden away on the Festival Republic stage. Thankfully we remembered and now we can&rsquo;t wait to see the Atlanta, Georgia indie rockers.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Having developed a catalogue of impassioned songs that tug at the heart strings and have you singing along simultaneously, Andy Hull and company are known to deliver impactful shows, no matter how big or small a stage they&rsquo;re on. If anything we&rsquo;re thankful they&rsquo;re on one of the smaller stages as classic songs <i>&#8216;I Can Feel A Hot One&rsquo;<\/i> and <i>&#8216;Where Have You Been?&rsquo;<\/i> demand an intimate setting. Whilst <i>&#8216;Simple Math&rsquo;<\/i> and <i>&#8216;Shake It Out&rsquo;<\/i> thrive off their delightful and anthemic approach. <b>Manchester Orchestra<\/b> are the type of band that leave you with a fuzzy feeling of excitement in your stomach. (SR)<\/p>\n<p><b>Where and When:<\/b> Festival Republic Stage (Friday 28th &#8211; Leeds \/ Sunday 30th &#8211; Reading)<\/p>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/06c51a5e864a763635d1dbd8a6106542\/tumblr_inline_nrhu8uBhgA1t3m09q_540.jpg\" width=\"250px\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><b>Bring Me The Horizon<\/b><br \/>\nIt&rsquo;s a special time in the camp of <b>Bring Me The Horizon<\/b> right now. With their much anticipated fifth LP, <i>&#8216;That&rsquo;s The Spirit&rsquo;<\/i> set to be released next month, their sub-headline slot on the main stage could be a career defining set. Having overcome criticism from their early days, <b>BMTH<\/b> have become one of the most beloved metal\/rock bands in recent years. Their development has seen <b>BMTH<\/b>&rsquo;s sound become more layered and expansive that goes firmly beyond their &ldquo;deathcore&rdquo; roots.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Having closed the <i>&#8216;Sempiternal&rsquo;<\/i> era with a show at Wembley Arena, we&rsquo;re sure the next chapter will kick off with a bang at <b>Reading and Leeds<\/b>. We&rsquo;re sure their evolution to potential future headliners will be certified with a stand out showing this weekend. Nevertheless if you want a nostaglic party band, Fred Durst and company are your boys! If you want wall to wall rock hits, then look no further.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Having produced sets with varying results in previous year, <b>Limp Bizkit<\/b> aren&rsquo;t exactly known for their performance but they do bring a fun, energetic show that will have you helplessly singing along (and rollin&rsquo;) like its 2001. And there is no metal band in the world bigger than <b>Metallica<\/b>.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>Returning to the festival for the first time since 2008, it is safe to say James, Kirk, Lars and Robert will feel at home on the big stage having played arenas and stadiums for years. Whilst they may not be as current or &ldquo;trendy&rdquo; as the other two main stage headliners (The Libertines and Mumford &amp; Sons), <b>Metallica<\/b> do have an almighty arsenal songs that truly justify their position as legends. So be prepared to thrash your air guitar and do your best Hatfield &ldquo;YEAH!&rdquo; impression.
