One that isn\u2019t afraid to stand up for the minority even when the odds seem hopeless. One that will bring up the topics many prefer to just sweep under the rug. One built on anger at a failing world and belief for a better tomorrow. As \u201813\u2019s no holds barred effort <i>\u2018Anonymous\u2019<\/i> still rings true today, the band have come out swinging once again with <i>\u2018Subliminal Criminals\u2019<\/i> and they aren\u2019t holding back the punches.<\/figure>\n<\/p>\n<p>The unnerving squeal of <i>\u2018The New Gods<\/i>\u2019 kicks things into life with a jab to the shin and gob in the eye. As has become their habit, the band leave no issue unprobed and no stone unturned when it comes to their beliefs. From the unashamed damning of the health system on <i>\u2018Outbreak\u2019<\/i> to the disgusted tirade on paedophile scumbags on <i>\u2018D.I.E.P.I.G.S\u2019<\/i>, <b>Stray<\/b> aim their gun with unmatched accuracy and don\u2019t let their target escape. The anger and malice that they conjure outshines every single one of their peers and they don\u2019t even seem to break a sweat. <!-- more --><\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>With their blood hot and their fists clenched, similar angry types Sam Carter and Rou Reynolds stick their oars into the murky depths on the crushingly honest <i>\u2018First World Problem Child\u2019<\/i> and devastatingly gritty <i>\u2018Eavesdropper\u2019<\/i> respectively while <i>\u2018Shots Fired\u2019<\/i> has the feel of a new world protest hymn. The Rage Against The Machine channeling on <i>\u2018Future Of Sound\u2019<\/i> and breakneck punch of \u2018<i>Timebomb<\/i>\u2019 keep the gears turning before <i>\u2018These Things Have To Fall Apart\u2019<\/i> sees things out with a painstaking groove and one last Doc Marten to the temple. What <b>Stray<\/b> has created is more than just a set of angry songs for the sake of being angry. They have put together a real platform for voices to be heard and opinions to shine through.<\/p>\n<p><i>\u2018Subliminal Criminals\u2019<\/i> is a statement of intent like no other. Oozing with delicious riffs, hard hitting bounce and battering spite, every song stands for something and doesn\u2019t let you forget it.
