Upon a first visit to <em>&#8216;All Animal&#8217;,\u00a0<\/em>it only gets easier.<\/p>\n<p>The title-track&#8217;s refrain might provoke head-scratching over how it sounds precisely as imagined before listening. Similarly, the lyrics may provoke wide-eyed wonder. Try <em>&#8216;Superhero&#8217; \u2013 &#8220;I&#8217;ll be your superhero\/I&#8217;ll catch you when you fall&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0\u2013 or <em>&#8216;Die Sober&#8217;<\/em> \u2013 <em>&#8220;When I feel low, I wanna get high&#8221;<\/em>. A track is called <em>&#8216;If You Love Me, Leave Me&#8217;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Upon a second listen this reviewer was less aghast and more amused. But then a strange thing happened.\u00a0It became genuinely \u2013 non-ironically \u2013 enjoyable at the third attempt. The realisation hit that it would wholly naive to dismiss\u00a0<strong>Through Fire<\/strong> on their own terms. The title track&#8217;s punchiness revealed itself and offset any predictability, while the direct, anthemic push of\u00a0<em>&#8216;Medicine&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>and <em>&#8216;Listen To Your Heart<\/em>&#8216;<em>\u00a0<\/em>proved to be of far greater substance than on initial impression.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"THROUGH FIRE - Medicine (Official Music Video)\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nDOcAMPyT3I?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1&#038;origin=https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>No, the lyrics of <em>&#8216;Die Sober&#8217;<\/em> did not change, but the neatly pulled-off blend of acoustic guitars and electronic beats ultimately raise the song up as one of the best on the record.
