The organisers behind the\u00a02000trees Festival<\/strong> have announced\u00a0Soft Play<\/strong> as the Thursday night headliner for this summer’s gathering.<\/p>\n

It will be the second time the two-piece has headlined the festival. They closed out the festival in 2017.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the announcement, 2000trees Festival<\/strong> organiser, James Scarlett said “We\u2019re thrilled to be able to confirm SOFT PLAY (formerly known as Slaves) are headlining the Thursday at 2000trees! New name, same songs, same incredible live show! They first played the festival in an early slot in 2014 before headlining in 2017 – so to have them back again now both the band and festival are bigger and better than ever is going to be something special.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Who are Soft Play?<\/h2>\n

The English punk duo were formerly known as\u00a0Slaves<\/strong><\/a> but changed their moniker late last year. They stated<\/a> the name “doesn’t represent who we are as people or what our music stands for any longer”<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Dinosaur Pile-Up, Hell Is For Heroes, Haggard Cat and more have also been announced<\/h2>\n

In addition to\u00a0Soft Play<\/strong> being announced as the third and final headliner, 12 other acts have been added to the already stacked line-up. Amongst them are\u00a02000trees<\/strong> regulars\u00a0Dinosaur Pile-Up<\/strong><\/a> and\u00a0Haggard Cat<\/strong><\/a>, as well as reformed post-hardcore group\u00a0Hell Is For Heroes<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

As always,\u00a02000trees\u00a0<\/strong>looks to highlight emerging new bands and today’s news is no different with the addition of\u00a0Love Is Noise<\/strong>,\u00a0Carsick<\/strong>, and Beach Riot<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
