In March 2022, New Jersey-bred quartet The<\/strong>\u00a0Gaslight Anthem\u00a0<\/strong>reformed. Now after nine years, they’re due to release their sixth album, ‘History Books’<\/em>, on October 27th.<\/p>\n

It was recorded with producer and engineer Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Death Cab for Cutie) and will be released through the band’s own label, Rich Mahogany Recordings<\/strong> (distributed via Thirty Tigers).<\/p>\n

\u201cWe didn\u2019t have any interest in reinventing what The Gaslight Anthem sounds like,\u201d<\/em> revealed frontman Brian Fallon when commenting about the new album. \u201cWe wanted to stay true to ourselves but also let Peter do what he does best, which is to make things sound beautiful and sad and fun and exciting all at the same time.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The Gaslight Anthem Team Up with “the Boss’ on ‘History Books’<\/em><\/h2>\n

Alongside the album announcement,\u00a0The Gaslight Anthem<\/strong> have shared\u00a0‘History Books’<\/em> title track. It sees the four-piece rope in singer-songwriter, and longtime friend, Bruce Springsteen<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Having grown up idolising “The Boss”, the opportunity to collaborate with Springsteen<\/strong> was a special moment for Brian Fallon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Bruce Springsteen said I should write a duet for us, I think my head exploded,”<\/em> admitted Fallon. “It will never get old to me that one of the greatest songwriters in the world, and the voice of one of my heroes will forever be captured in a song I wrote at a small wooden desk, in October, in New Jersey.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The track itself is a steady and soulful Americana rock number that sits well alongside\u00a0The Gaslight Anthem<\/strong>‘s best moments.<\/p>\n
