Having previously shared a track called\u00a0‘There\u2019s No Place In This World For Me’\u00a0<\/a><\/em>last month<\/a>,\u00a0The Menzingers<\/strong> have today announced their seventh studio album. It’s called ‘Some Of It Was True\u2019<\/em>, and is due for release on 13th October via Epitaph Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The album sees the Philadelphia quartet work with Grammy-nominated producer Brad Cook (Bon Iver, The War on Drugs, Waxahatchee), and was recorded at the Sonic Ranch in El Paso, Texas.\u00a0‘Some Of It Was True’<\/em> promises to be one of\u00a0The Menzingers<\/strong>‘\u00a0“most immediate-sounding and energetic record to date”<\/em> while lyrically expanding beyond their personal experiences, drawing influence from the world and people around them.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis record just feels different for us,\u201d<\/em> explains vocalist and guitarist Greg Barnett. \u201cIt\u2019s a really important one in our catalog, and a pivotal moment in our history. We have the liberty of our fans growing with us now, and after writing these lyrical songs about where we are in life, we decided to take other peoples\u2019 stories and make something bigger out of it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Barnett also commented on the writing of the record, stating \u201cWritten over the last two and a half years in hotels, backstages, basements, and rehearsal rooms and recorded during a life-changing retreat down south, \u2018Some Of It Was True\u2019 is the most realized version of what we set out to do when we started this band 17 years ago\u2014have fun and be ourselves.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
