Fresh off the back of appearing at last weekend’s\u00a0ArcTanGent Festival<\/strong>, Atlanta’s The Callous Daoboys<\/strong> have revealed details of a new three-track EP. It’s called ‘God Smiles Upon The Callous Daoboys’<\/em> and will be released on October 20th through MNRK Heavy<\/strong> and Modern Static Records<\/strong>,<\/p>\n

It follows the experimental noise sextet’s remarkable 2022 full-length, ‘Celebrity Therapist’<\/em><\/a>. Yet as new single,\u00a0‘Waco Jesus’<\/em>, shows with its massive riffs, deep vocals, and wondrous violin, The Callous Daoboys<\/strong> refused to be tied down to a genre. While ‘God Smiles Upon\u2026’<\/em> promises to twist and turn with hints of nu-jazz, salsa, and nu-metal amongst its breakdowns and hooks.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn a way it feels like the band just started, even though we\u2019ve been chipping away at it for the last six years. We want to be the defining band of this weirdo genre-swapping heavy music, where you can\u2019t put it under an umbrella. I think what\u2019s cool about it is it\u2019s just immediately like, \u2018Hey, fuck you, this is The Callous Daoboys!\u2019”,<\/em> says vocalist Carson Pace, who also spoke about\u00a0‘Waco Jesus’<\/em>.<\/p>\n
