Having announced plans to call it a day earlier this year<\/a>,\u00a0Sum 41<\/strong> have shared details of their final album.\u00a0‘Heaven :x: Hell’<\/em> will be released on March 29th, 2024 through\u00a0Rise Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As you can guess from its title, ‘Heaven :x: Hell’<\/em> will be a double album with one-half (‘Heaven’<\/em>) consisting of punk songs, with the other half (‘Hell’<\/em>) honing on the Canadian group’s metal side.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce I heard the music, I was confident enough to say, \u2018This is the record I\u2019d like to go out on,”<\/em> shared Sum 41 <\/strong>frontman Deryck Whibley. “We\u2019ve made a double album of pop punk and metal, and it makes sense. It took a long time for us to pave this lane for ourselves, but we did, and it\u2019s unique to us.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The announcement of\u00a0‘Heaven :x: Hell’<\/em> has been accompanied by a new single.\u00a0‘Rise Up’<\/em> is taken from the\u00a0‘Hell’<\/em> portion of the record, and it shows with its rapid riffs and pounding drums.<\/p>\n

\u201cWriting ‘Rise Up,’ I felt the way I did when I first got signed,\u201d<\/em> says Deryck. \u201cI felt the pressure and the need to create something great, but I felt so excited at the same time.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Sum 41 <\/strong>has a history for making entertaining videos and ‘Rise Up’<\/em> fits that description. It sees the quintet board a lengthy flight to Tokyo. In between giving some mid-flight entertainment, the group are joined by an array of colourful characters. While a familiar face is piloting the plane.<\/p>\n
