Today\u00a0Already Heard<\/strong> is beginning a new incentive to highlight and champion new music – ‘Song of the Day’.\u00a0From Monday to Friday, we will be putting the spotlight on a fresh track that you\u00a0need\u00a0to hear. <\/em><\/p>\n

Every week, we aim to showcase a wide range of music, from familiar favourites to emerging bands to DIY newcomers.<\/em><\/p>\n

Last month, Scottish favourites Twin Atlantic<\/strong><\/a> delivered their latest single – ‘Asleep’<\/em>.<\/p>\n

It saw the quartet continue their return to form, following September’s\u00a0‘Stuck In a Car With You’<\/em>.\u00a0‘Asleep’<\/em> proves to be a pulsating number with bold guitars and an anthemic chorus.<\/p>\n

With drummer Joe Lazarus and guitarist Barry McKenna joining frontman Sam McTrusty and Ross McNae,\u00a0‘Asleep’<\/em> takes full advantage of\u00a0Twin Atlantic<\/strong> being a quartet again, especially after their indifferent 2022 outing,\u00a0‘Transparency’<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cAsleep was so fun to write and record. We really managed to recapture the joy we\u2019ve felt about being in our weird band our whole adult lives again,\u201d<\/em> said McTrusty who co-produced the track with McNae. \u201cWe feel like it\u2019s the perfect mix of joy, melancholy, serious subject matters, but with a throwaway attitude. Hopefully, it gives people who listen the same injection of excitement it gave us. Can\u2019t wait to play this one live.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Speaking of live shows,\u00a0Twin Atlantic<\/strong> will be playing a one-off hometown show at Glasgow’s O2 Academy on Thursday, May 23rd.<\/p>\n

They also have a handful of UK dates in March, including supporting\u00a0Fightstar<\/strong> at London’s OVO Arena Wembley.<\/p>\n

In terms of further new music, Twin Atlantic<\/strong> are currently working on a new record that is expected to be released on their own label, Staple Diet<\/strong>, later this year.<\/p>\n
