Don’t be fooled by their name, Cambridge four-piece\u00a0Grieving<\/strong> aren’t quite the doom-merchants their moniker suggests. Their latest single,\u00a0‘Tarpaulin’<\/em>, is a sharp, assured mix of (traditional) emotional hardcore with stylistic nods to those who have come before them.<\/p>\n

Blending the twiddly guitars of Sunny Day Real Estate with the surging melodic edge of Jawbreaker and Far, ‘Tarpaulin’<\/em> is a fine entry point to what\u00a0Grieving <\/strong>are all about.\u00a0Past singles such as ‘My Friend, The Ghost’<\/em>, ‘Ownership’<\/em> and ‘Start Young’<\/em> saw the quartet display an evocative and stirring array of emo, punk and post-hardcore.<\/p>\n

On March 15th, Grieving<\/strong>\u00a0<\/strong>will deliver their long-awaited debut full-length.\u00a0‘Everything Goes Right, All At Once’<\/em> promises to deliver insistent hooks and off-kilter energy in equal measure, with full of aggressive, and unpredictable sharp turns. Partly produced locally by Matty Moon (Lonely The Brave, Spielbergs) locally at Half Ton Studios, Grieving<\/strong> also worked with Leeds-based producer Bob Cooper (The Winter Passing, Nai Harvest, Self Defense Family, Fussy) at his Crooked Rain Studios.<\/p>\n

While the title, ‘Everything Goes Right, All At Once,’<\/em> puts a positive spin on a line from the infamous film<\/a> ‘The Room’<\/em>.<\/p>\n
