When North West group\u00a0Blanket\u00a0<\/strong>first emerged<\/a> in 2017, they delivered an ethereal take on the post-rock genre. Their 2018 debut full-length, ‘How To Let Go’<\/em><\/a>, especially highlighted their compelling cinematic abilities. Since then, the quartet have evolved their sound towards sonically bolder territory, expanding their musical palette in the process.<\/p>\n

That leads us to today’s track –\u00a0‘Ceremonia’<\/em>. It’s the title track from their upcoming third album and is a raucous, alt-rock blast that retains Blanket<\/strong>‘s identity. It simultaneously draws from influences such as Cave In, HUM, Swervedriver, and Ride, giving it a 90’s alt\/grunge-rock vibe that kicks into overdrive in the later stages.<\/p>\n

“We wanted to capture the music we loved as kids like Britpop etc and make it heavier,”<\/em> explains\u00a0Blanket<\/strong> vocalist\/guitarist Bobby Pook on the making of ‘Ceremonia’. <\/em>It sets the tone for what to expect from the album of the same name. Pushing their musical boundaries, ‘Ceremonia’<\/em> promises to be thoroughly engaging with the band opting to decide one track at a time. “This gave us the ability to really mess with tones and vibes to suit each track instead of having a record which all sounds the same,”<\/em> says Pook. “The feeling we wanted to capture is an Indie Rock band loud in a room.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The release of\u00a0‘Ceremonia’<\/em> on March 22nd via\u00a0Church Road Records<\/strong> will be complemented by a smattering of UK dates followed by festival appearances going into the summer.<\/p>\n
