Aussie titans\u00a0Northlane<\/strong> have announced they will be releasing a new EP on April 12th. It’s called ‘Mirror\u2019s Edge’<\/em> and was recorded with Will Putney last summer.\u00a0Northlane <\/strong>songwriter\/guitarist Jon Deileyd describes the six-track collection as \u201cthe greatest hits of Northlane sounds\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n

‘Mirror\u2019s Edge’<\/em> is thematically stated to be about acceptance. “The EP is about looking at yourself and reflecting on the past one final time before leaving it all behind to find hope in what lies beyond the mirror’s edge,<\/em>” stated\u00a0Northlane<\/strong>‘s announcement.<\/p>\n

Not only does ‘Mirror’s Edge’\u00a0<\/em>see\u00a0Northlane<\/strong> reconnect with Will Putney, it also sees them collaborate with influential Aussie frontman Winston McCall (Parkway Drive) and Ian Kenny (Karnivool\/Birds of Tokyo). While former bassist Brendon Padjasek lends his vocals to a track called\u00a0‘Kraft’<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Hear Northlane’s New Single Featuring Parkway Drive’s Winston McCall<\/h2>\n

The launch of ‘Mirror’s Edge’<\/em> coincides with Northlane<\/strong>‘s latest single. ‘Miasma’<\/em> sees the quartet at their most dynamic and intense, with Winston McCall of Parkway Drive\u00a0<\/strong>adding gasoline to the firey number.<\/p>\n

\u201cParkway Drive were always our number one inspiration as a band. When we first started, their DVD created a roadmap to success which we did our best to follow. At a time where every band was ripping their sound off, we chose to take our own path but instead emulate their work ethic, and for us it paid dividends,”<\/em> said guitarist Josh Smith on the blueprint Parkway Drive<\/strong> provided for heavy Australian bands.<\/p>\n

“<\/em>Over time that respect has flowed both ways. With this track being so heavy we couldn\u2019t think of a more perfect guest than Winston. He flew down from Byron just after we toured together in North America and we tracked his parts in Jon\u2019s home studio. His brute voice just tore the track to pieces and we were stunned with the result.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
