Aberdeen outfit Cold Years<\/strong> will return on April 26th with their third album –\u00a0‘A Different Life’<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Recorded at The Barber Shop Studios, New Jersey by producer Brett Romnes (Hot Mulligan, Boston Manor, Heart Attack Man),\u00a0‘A Different Life’<\/em> promises to continue\u00a0Cold Years<\/strong>‘ record of delivering impassioned, relatable, and anthemic songs.<\/p>\n

\u2028\u201cThis is the first time I\u2019ve ever come out of a studio able to listen to the tracks, where, and I say this 100% with conviction, we went in and did everything we wanted to do and more,\u201d<\/em> said Cold Years<\/strong> vocalist\/guitarist Ross Gordon when speaking about the making of the record. \u201cI\u2019ve never done that. I\u2019ve always come out feeling like we could have done something better or different. But this album changed the game for all of us as a band. We didn\u2019t just do twelve tracks that sound the same. We tried to make things a little different. That happened naturally, and it\u2019s the most musical experience I\u2019ve ever had. I definitely feel a confidence with this record that I didn\u2019t feel on the others.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

As for the album’s title, it’s a realisation of who\u00a0Cold Years<\/strong> want to be. Despite being beaten and broken down by the highs and lows of life in a band, making the album re-energised the Scottish quartet. “This record\u2019s about challenging normality and making your own future, because you want a different life to everyone else”<\/em> explains Gordon. “You miss a lot doing this\u2014weddings, birthdays, anniversaries\u2014so it\u2019s this immense personal sacrifice, but it\u2019s absolutely worthwhile.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hear ‘A Different Life’<\/em>s First Single –\u00a0‘Roll With It’<\/em><\/h2>\n

To coincide with announcing\u00a0‘A Different Life’<\/em>,\u00a0Cold Years<\/strong> have delivered its first single,\u00a0‘Roll With It’<\/em>. Setting the spirited, socially-charged blueprint of the album, it’s an energetic slick of punk rock with an anthemic chorus that deserves to be played on repeat.<\/p>\n

“Life is not an easy thing to contend with. Between long hours of working your ass off, trying to see family and friends and having the occasional self-destructive streak, sometimes it\u2019s natural to want more. This song is about wanting more from your life \u2013 the person you once were is gone,”<\/em> stated Cold Years<\/strong> vocalist\/guitarist Ross Gordon about the track.<\/p>\n
