Following from their brilliant debut single,\u00a0‘Freaking Out’<\/em><\/a>, last November,\u00a0Every Hell<\/strong> have delivered another slice of “doom pop” with\u00a0‘The Watcher’<\/em>. Its sultry groove, fuzzy guitars, and downbeat tempo complement Will Gardener’s rich vocals. Add to that its psychedelic middle, stiff riffs from Toby Stewert, and an unhinged sax solo, and you’re presented with an auspicious picture for the quartet’s upcoming debut EP.<\/p>\n

“The Watcher is one of my favourite tunes we have written so far. I started jamming the ideas of the riff and the sax hook a good few years ago now in lockdown, I kind of can’t believe it’s taken 3 years to get it finished and out<\/em> there,” explained Gardener.<\/p>\n

As the title suggests,\u00a0‘The Watcher’<\/em> captures the uncomfortable feeling of being in the presence of someone you thought you trusted. For Gardner, It’s influenced by a meeting with a fan during his time with former band, Black Peaks<\/strong>.\u00a0 “The song is about a particularly unpleasant encounter that I had with a Black Peaks fan in the early hours of the morning after a night out. After chatting with him for a while he suddenly switched up and got very aggressive on me, and I am still convinced to this day that the night could have ended a lot worse for me than it did.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Completed by former\u00a0Black Peaks<\/strong> bassist Andrew Gosden, guitarist Toby Stewert (Memory Of Elephants<\/strong>\/ No Violet<\/strong>), and drummer\/producer Mark Roberts (Broker<\/strong>), Every Hell\u00a0<\/strong>looks set to have a promising 2024. Alongside a four-track EP, they’ll be hitting up both\u00a02000trees Festival<\/strong> and\u00a0ArcTanGent<\/strong> this summer.<\/p>\n
