While us Brits are experiencing a grey (and rainy) February, Down Under in Australia it’s late summer. So it’s no surprise Between You & M<\/strong>e are in a buoyant mood. Although they’re finishing up a UK run of shows, that hasn’t Aussie pop-punks stopped from delivering this feelgood banger –\u00a0‘In The Middle’<\/em>.<\/p>\n

It’s the latest taster from their upcoming\u00a0‘SH!T YEAH’<\/em> EP, due April 5th. Beyond its slick, boisterous pop-punk sound,\u00a0‘In The Middle’<\/em> has a sentimental centre.\u00a0\u201c\u2018In The Middle\u2019 is about the realisation that your relationship is over,\u201d<\/em> reflects Between You & Me <\/strong>vocalist JT.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe strong joy and excitement you once brought to each other\u2019s lives had been replaced with fighting, bitterness and a complete breakdown in communication. Even despite this, you both yearn for it to work out and dream of the better times. You break up, you get back together, and the cycle continues, despite both recognising you had grown apart as people and the trust for each other was irreparable. The song encapsulates the slow breakdown of a relationship and the acceptance in moving on.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Having delivered two vibrant, punchy albums (2018’s\u00a0‘Everything Is Temporary’<\/em> and 2021’s\u00a0‘Armageddon’<\/em>) on Hopeless Records, \u00a0‘SH!T YEAH’\u00a0<\/em>sees the quintet take the independent route. Yet as\u00a0‘In The Middle’<\/em> along with ‘YEAH’<\/em> and\u00a0‘Nevermind’<\/em> show, Between You & Me<\/strong>\u00a0still provide the infectious pop-punk they’ve become known for.<\/p>\n

The release of ‘SH!T YEAH’\u00a0<\/em>will mark the conclusion of a lengthy US headline run.<\/p>\n

Between You & Me<\/strong> are currently on a UK tour with support from\u00a0Broadside and Young Culture.<\/p>\n
