The organisers behind the Takedown Festival have made the unfortunate news that the event has been postponed until 2025. The main reason for the postponement is due to ongoing renovation work at the Guildhall in Portsmouth, a Grade II listed venue.<\/p>\n

The venue is in the process in having its basement converted to become a creative space for young people. However, the work on this has been extended, resulting in the Takedown Festival<\/strong> losing two key areas of the festival site, and a reduction in capacity.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know a lot of people are finding things tough at the moment and while we have extended our early bird price initiatives and offered split payment options, as one of the first festivals of the season, we have found this year to be particularly challenging.”<\/em> explained Takedown Festival<\/strong> and Divergent Festivals Directors, Kai and Sarah Harris, “This combined with the impact of the extended building works has forced us to consider all options and postponement is the only viable option for this year. Takedown Festival has a really loyal following, and we are determined to use the additional lead-time to hit back next year and deliver the event the fans deserve!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Takedown Festival\u00a0<\/strong>2024<\/a> was due to take place at the Guildhall on April 13th and 14th. The line-up included headliners\u00a0Creeper<\/strong> and\u00a0Dinosaur Pile-Up<\/strong>, along with dozens of names including\u00a0Trophy Eyes<\/strong>,\u00a0Hell Is For Heroes<\/strong>,\u00a0Pupil Slicer<\/strong>, Casseyette<\/strong>,\u00a0Dream State<\/strong>,\u00a0Employed To Serve<\/strong>, and\u00a0Lake Malice<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It is hoped, much of this year\u2019s line-up carried forward. Further details will be announced soon. However, in the meantime, all ticket holders will be refunded by their point of purchase.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
