Newport goth punks The Nightmares<\/strong> are preparing to go out on a headline tour later this month. However, they’ve decided to expand their “\u2018Noir Pop\u2019 universe” with a remix EP.<\/p>\n

‘From Above (Remix EP)’<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>sees four remixes of the track of the same name, which originally appeared on last year’s\u00a0‘S\u00e9ance’\u00a0<\/em>full-length. Shoegaze\/goth rockers\u00a0Zetra<\/strong> open the four-track EP with a blend of shimmering and brooding synths. Darkwave outfit\u00a0Cruel Blue<\/strong> takes ‘From Above’<\/em> in an 80’s post-punk direction, reminiscent of New Order. Upcoming tour supports Mouth Slut<\/strong> twist the track into an icy goth-laden number with industrial beats. Finally, New York-based synth-pop duo Soft Faith<\/strong> serves up a pulsating remix.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we approach the one-year anniversary of our debut album, ‘S\u00e9ance’, we felt it only right to revisit the first single we released on that campaign. What better song to pick than, \u201cFrom Above\u201d, a song about a vampire falling in love with a human,”<\/em> explained The Nightmares<\/strong> bass player Ben Mainwaring behind the reason for the EP’s creation. “We handpicked four of our peers, to take the stems from the original recording, and reimagine the song, however they pleased.\u00a0Each reimagination of ‘From Above’ is a beautiful and unique take on the track, and each version perfectly captures how different personalities can perceive the emotions within a song.”<\/em><\/p>\n
