Ahead of its April 12th release, the quintet have shared its title track.\u00a0<em>&#8216;The Black&#8217;<\/em> exemplifies what\u00a0<strong>Imminence<\/strong> are all about; weaving in rich orchestration with ferocious metalcore, which equally takes influence from the genre&#8217;s past and Scandinavian metal&#8217;s long history. It&#8217;s a compelling number, delivered with fierce power and graceful elegance.<\/p>\n<p>Opening with Eddie Berg&#8217;s sweeping violin and soothing voice, guitarists Harald Barrett and Alex Arnoldsson, drummer Peter Hanstr\u00f6m and bass player Christian H\u00f6ijer combine to deliver intense, quick blasts. By the track&#8217;s conclusion, Hanstr\u00f6m&#8217;s rapid-fire drum work effortlessly complements the grandiose orchestration on show. Furthermore, Berg&#8217;s words capture the darker tone the album ventures into. Its lyrics tonally capture Berg&#8217;s mental desperation, pleading\u00a0<em>&#8220;would you follow me to the edge? would you follow me into the black?&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Imminence - The Black\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NEhSK6BMRiQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8216;The Black&#8217;<\/em> is the sixth track to be shared from the forthcoming album of the same name. Consisting of 12 songs,\u00a0<em>&#8216;The Black&#8217;<\/em> promises to solidify <strong>Imminence<\/strong>&#8216;s position as a major player in current metalcore. Past singles,\u00a0<em>&#8216;Come Hell or High Water&#8217;<\/em>,\u00a0<em>&#8216;Desolation&#8217;<\/em>, <em>&#8216;Death by a Thousand Cuts&#8217;<\/em>, and\u00a0<em>&#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/SE88noufabg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Continuum&#8217;<\/a><\/em> highlight the musical breadth\u00a0<em>&#8216;The Black&#8217;<\/em> explores. It&#8217;s the sound of a band sounding as bold as ever, creating heavy, emotive soundscapes in the process.<\/p>\n<p>Despite forming in 2010, <strong>Imminence<\/strong> have only considerably come into their own over the last few years. 2021&#8217;s\u00a0<em>&#8216;Heaven In Hiding&#8217;<\/em> along with its 2022 deluxe edition, followed by the\u00a0<em>&#8216;Live in S:t Nicolai&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>EP, elevated their status. Last year saw\u00a0<em>&#8216;Live in Session&#8217;<\/em> performances go viral across social media, resulting in a surge of streams in just a matter of months. Nevertheless,\u00a0<strong>Imminence<\/strong> are far from a viral flash-in-the-pan, each song from\u00a0<em>&#8216;The Black<\/em>&#8216; has arrived with high expectations and an increasing demand to see the quintet live.<\/p>\n<p>Their upcoming US tour in the spring follows last year&#8217;s first venture Stateside, which was completely sold out with some venues being upgraded not just once but twice.
