As they kick off their UK tonight in Glasgow, The Gaslight Anthem<\/strong> have announced they will be releasing a new EP this Friday (March 22nd).\u00a0‘History Books – Short Stories’\u00a0<\/em>will be made up of four tracks, and will include acoustic versions of ‘Positive Charge’<\/em> and the title track from last year’s\u00a0‘History Books’<\/em><\/a> full-length. It’ll also feature a reworked version of long-time fan-favourite ‘Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts’<\/em> and a cover of\u00a0Billie Eilish<\/strong>‘s\u00a0‘Ocean Eyes<\/em>.<\/p>\n

On how the cover came to fruition, The Gaslight Anthem<\/strong>\u2019s Brian Fallon commented:<\/p>\n

\u201cI was driving my daughter to school and she played it for me on the way and I really took to the song, Then one day we were talking ideas for a cover with our friends and I said, wouldn\u2019t it be cool to do a heavier version of \u2018Ocean Eyes\u2019? I tried it out and everybody loved the idea.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The original version of ‘Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts’\u00a0<\/em>appeared on 2008’s\u00a0‘Se\u00f1or and the Queen’<\/em> EP, and can be heard below.<\/p>\n
