On May 24th, they will be releasing their third album &#8211;\u00a0<em>&#8216;The Mosaic&#8217;<\/em>. Their latest single,\u00a0<em>&#8216;Empire&#8217;<\/em>, epitomises what fans can expect from the album.<\/p>\n<p>It sees\u00a0<strong>Capstan<\/strong> combine contemplative lyrics, sturdy breakdowns, and dizzying electronic flourishes, with a soaring, impressionable chorus. Ultimately, it allows the quintet to show their varied tones in a tight-knot package.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;&#8216;Empire&#8217; is an introspective piece,&#8221;<\/em> says <strong>Capstan<\/strong> guitarist and vocalist Joseph Mabry.<em> &#8220;The lyrics confess guilt regarding privilege, its cost, and mass complicity in atrocities committed in the name of western imperialism. Recognizing the global scope of violence, poverty, and inequality, and acknowledging that the system is decidedly and irreparably broken is imperative to the possibility of progress.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Capstan - Empire (Official Lyric Video)\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5OBuYuq5a_o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Throughout their career, Mabry along with\u00a0Anthony Demario (vocals), Harrison Borman (guitar), Andrew \u201cBoz\u201d Bozymowski (bass, vocals), and Scott Fisher (drums), have evolved their sound. 2019&#8217;s\u00a0<em>&#8216;Restless Heart, Keep Running&#8217;<\/em> was an amalgamation of progressive post-hardcore and emo. Whereas 2022&#8217;s\u00a0<em>&#8216;SEPARATE&#8217;<\/em> was considered to be a sharper, hook-heavy effort. <em>&#8216;The Mosaic&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>aims to combine\u00a0<strong>Capstan<\/strong> at their heaviest, catchiest, and technical most. It&#8217;s something that\u00a0&#8216;Empire&#8217; archives with ease.<\/p>\n<p>Past single, <em>&#8216;Misery Scene&#8217;<\/em> was equally infectious, with its big chorus and twisting riffs seeing the track and\u00a0<strong>Capstan<\/strong> be described as <em>&#8220;if Queen were a post-hardcore band.&#8221;\u00a0<\/em>Furthermore, it highlights the optimistic tone that is scattered throughout\u00a0<em>&#8216;The Mosaic&#8217;<\/em>.\u00a0<em>\u201cWe\u2019re in a good place,\u201d<\/em> guitarist Harrison <a href=\"https:\/\/concord.com\/concord-albums\/the-mosaic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">commented<\/a>. <em>\u201cSome of us just became dads; others are going to be dads.
