The track was also produced by former\u00a0<strong>Bring Me The Horizon<\/strong> member, Jordan Fish, and Improta&#8217;s <strong>Night Verses<\/strong>&#8216; bandmate Nick DePirro.<\/p>\n<p>Its release coincides with\u00a0<strong>House of Protection\u00a0<\/strong>joining\u00a0<strong>Red Bull Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>On the meaning behind the project&#8217;s name, Aric says\u00a0<em>\u201c\u2018Protection\u2019 was specifically chosen because it\u2019s a Massive Attack song and I was reading their biography as we started this project. It was very inspiring when it came to us initiating this whole thing. The full name is because we wanted to build something that protected our creativity and ideas as well as the people that come to the shows.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Having individually and collectively carved out a reputation as boundary-pushing live musicians, <strong>House of Protection<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>sees both Improta and Harrison stepping up to the mic for the first, finding voices they didn&#8217;t know they had. While <em>It\u2019s Supposed to Hurt&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>accompanying video captures the pair&#8217;s long-rooted DIY ethos with a series of compelling and chaotic shots.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about their debut track, Aric is quoted saying\u00a0<em>&#8220;\u201cIt\u2019s Supposed To Hurt\u2019 was the first song we wrote. Some of the vocals were from our initial improvisations. When we started this, we had no idea how we would sound or where we wanted to take it. Neither of us had sung before, we just knew the energy we wanted to create sonically and that we\u2019d put in whatever time it took to get it to feel right.
