St Albans quintet Trash Boat<\/strong> have revealed details of their fourth album. It’s titled\u00a0‘Heaven Can Wait’<\/em> and will be released on October 4th via\u00a0Hopeless Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Having firmly outgrown their pop-punk roots on 2021’s ‘Don\u2019t You Feel Amazing?’<\/em>, ‘Heaven Can Wait’<\/em> promises to be 11\u00a0“shapeshifting”<\/em> tracks full of twists and turns; introspective and full of deep-seated questions.<\/p>\n

\u201cLife is pretty chaotic,\u201d<\/em> says Trash Boat<\/strong> vocalist Tobi Duncan explaining his band\u2019s fervent fourth full-length album. \u201cThe world is pretty chaotic. I\u2019m pretty chaotic, and this album is every piece of me and us as a band. I’m not trying to paint a pretty picture that is nice to look at or that\u2019s easily digestible. I’m simply trying to paint an honest picture, and get as much of myself into these songs as possible. It\u2019s direct. It\u2019s unfiltered. It\u2019s raw.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The album includes new single, ‘Be Someone’<\/em> (feat. Eric Vanlerberghe of I Prevail<\/strong>), as well as past singles\u00a0‘Break You,’<\/em>\u00a0‘Liar Liar’ <\/em>and ‘Delusions of Grandeur’<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The announcement of ‘Heaven Can Wait’<\/em> is accompanied by a new track –\u00a0‘Be Someone’<\/em>. Featuring guest vocals from Eric Vanlerberghe of I Prevail<\/strong>, the track is a fiery alt-rock number honing on the band’s melodic rawness, with Vanlerberghe’s screams merely adding to the intensity.<\/p>\n

\u201cEric\u2019s wife was actually a fan of Trash Boat, which was how we ended up touring with them in the first place. We got on great on tour and he joined us on stage for a few guest spots throughout. During the tour, we asked if he\u2019d be up for guesting on a new song and he was down,” explained\u00a0Trash Boat<\/strong>‘s Tobi Duncan on how the collaboration came to fruition.<\/p>\n

Duncan goes on to share how a night out in Dublin, Ireland made\u00a0‘Be Someone’<\/em>s subject matter\u00a0“poetically relevant”<\/em>.\u00a0“We were out drinking and a drunk guy was trying to fight everyone. He started tossing his own girlfriend around, which is where Eric stepped in and before you knew it, the guy turned on Eric. Eric shoved him to the floor and walked away, as he did the guy tried to sucker punch Eric from behind. That\u2019s where I got involved and where it came to an end. The song was already written at this point, but the subject matter is poetically relevant.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Vanlerberghe’s guest appearance is the first of two cameos on\u00a0‘Heaven Can Wait’<\/em>. The second sees Kenta Koie of Crossfaith\u00a0<\/strong>appear on a track called ‘filthy\/RIGHTEOUS’<\/em>, and is described as “skittish Linkin Park-sounding”<\/em><\/p>\n
