The news comes as guitarist\/vocalist and primary songwriter Tobias Young announced the band will be calling time earlier this month. In a statement shared across social media, Young cited the need to care for his mother as the reason for the split. You can read Tobias&#8217; full statement below.<\/p>\n<p>The news comes a year on since vocalist Gaz King, James Hackett (guitar), Matt Thomason (bass) and Kieran Tonks (drums) <a href=\"https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\/our-hollow-our-home-downpour\/\">joined Young<\/a> in a new look\u00a0<strong>Our Hollow, Our Home<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Read Tobias Young&#8217;s Statement on Our Hollow, Our Home&#8217;s Split<\/h2>\n<p><em>&#8220;Our Hollow, Our Home \/\/ 2013 &#8211; 2024<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>To my dear #teamohoh, it is with a heavy heart that I must let you know that we have reached the end of this wonderful road.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>I have chosen to put my personal statement here, as the last member of this band and as one of its founding members. But mainly because it\u2019s difficult to convey 10 plus years without some personal context.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Like every member who has ever been a part of it, I have given everything I have to Our Hollow, Our Home. For me, that\u2019s 10+ years. Through all the trials and tribulations, the blood sweat and many, many tears, somehow we made it this far, notably down to your love and support.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>But life changes. Early this year, in February, my mother went in for a routine checkup but ended up in the hospital for the best part of four months, fighting for her life. She is now in a position where she needs me and my partner to help look after her. Throughout this, my bandmates were incredible at helping me through what\u2019s been a really difficult year\u2014probably the worst since I lost my dad, if I\u2019m honest. I am self-aware enough to know it\u2019s made me difficult to be around at times, what should have been exciting and feel-good moments for us were affected by my negative spiralling headspace. I take ownership of that, and to Kieran, James, Gaz, and Matt, I am sorry you\u2019ve had to deal with a side of me that I am not proud to have shown. I know I\u2019m not always an easy person to work with, especially in the creative sense, but sometimes you care so much that it\u2019s really difficult to let someone else take the wheel, even when you probably should. A life lesson learned.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>What we have created together, has become Our Hollow, Our Home&#8217;s fourth and final album. A record I am so proud to have been a part of. A record that wouldn\u2019t have been possible without your support. I hope you still choose to listen to it. I think it\u2019s some of the band&#8217;s best work, and I\u2019m immensely proud of everyone for putting it together.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It goes without saying that this was probably the hardest decision I\u2019ve ever had to make in my life, but I feel now is the right time for change. There is a level of guilt that is almost impossible to shake, feeling like you&#8217;re letting your bandmates, your team, and your fans down. I guess you never really know if you\u2019re making the right decision until you make it, but this is something I need right now, and honestly, I am at peace with it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>To every member I\u2019ve shared the stage with in this band, both past and present, I can\u2019t thank you enough. Honestly, you all played a huge part in this journey.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>To Mike, Maarten, Mar, James, Robin, Tobbe, Mark, Emma, Sky, Ollie, Dan, Anthony, and the countless others who have stood by this band, thank you.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;Holloween Returns&#8221; will go ahead as planned. Our Hollow, Our Home will be there, in one shape or form, to play and sing some of these songs together one last time.
