With just 5 weeks until the release of ‘Spiral in a Straight Line’<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0Touch\u00e9 Amor\u00e9\u00a0<\/strong>have shared another track from the record.\u00a0‘Hal Ashby’\u00a0<\/em>thrives with a punchy exterior while Jeremy Bolm’s words maintain the theme of descent that appears throughout ‘Spiral in a Straight Line’.<\/em><\/p>\n

Named after the acclaimed American director, known for his work in the counterculture era of 70s cinema (Being There, Harold and Maude), Hal Ashby’s films often featured tragically misunderstood characters. It is this sense of misconception that weaves its way into\u00a0‘Hal Ashby’<\/em> as Bolm searches for some form of correct redirection.<\/p>\n

The Sean Stout-directed music video for\u00a0‘Hal Ashby’<\/em> sees\u00a0Touch\u00e9 Amor\u00e9<\/strong>‘s frontman watching an Ashby-esque movie at the theatre, with the music blurring the line between the action on-screen and in the theatre itself.<\/p>\n

“The \u2018Hal Ashby\u2019 music video is half a love letter to Hal and half a dream-like interpretation of the song as a whole,”<\/em> reflects Bolm. “[It is] Something that can be misunderstood as this or that \u2013 and finding the grace in-between.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
