{"id":96965,"date":"2024-09-10T17:13:33","date_gmt":"2024-09-10T16:13:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\/?p=96965"},"modified":"2024-09-10T17:16:42","modified_gmt":"2024-09-10T16:16:42","slug":"our-nameless-boy-leaving-party","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\/our-nameless-boy-leaving-party\/","title":{"rendered":"New Our Nameless Boy Single Released (&#8216;Leaving Party&#8217;)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Bristol based alt-rock outfit <a href=\"https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\/tag\/our-nameless-boy\/\"><strong>Our Nameless Boy<\/strong><\/a> have returned with a new track called\u00a0<em>&#8216;Leaving Party&#8217;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>It sees the quartet deliver an emotionally-driven track with a stringent socio-political influence.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201c&#8217;Leaving Party&#8217; was a reaction to the dangerous rhetoric of the likes of Suella Braverman et al. I guess I was trying to fill what felt to me to be a void in empathy, compassion and humanity left by such people,&#8221;<\/em> explains <strong>Our Nameless Boy<\/strong> vocalist Iain Gorrie. <em>\u2018LP\u2019 is an attempt to write from the perspective of a father fleeing war with a young daughter, having lost his wife in a bombing. I try to imagine as best I can the sense of loss and hopelessness in a position like that (\u201c\u2026 that decision, like my love, was taken from my hands\u201d).\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8216;Leaving Party&#8217;<\/em> follows <strong>Our Nameless Boy<\/strong>&#8216;s 2021 debut full-length, <em>\u2018Colour from the Doves\u2019<\/em>. The introspective collection focused on Gorrie&#8217;s cancer diagnosis. However, the band have turned a lyrical corner with <em>&#8216;Leaving Party&#8217;<\/em> taking a more considerate approach, trying to make sense of the world around them.<em> &#8220;Since then I have wanted to focus my writing more outwardly.
