Brighton indie\/math-pop favourites Orchards<\/strong> have returned with their third single of 2024.\u00a0‘Mug Song’<\/em> sees the trio deliver a quirky and catchy number, yet maintains the lyrically darker route they’ve been taking lately.<\/p>\n

Lucy Evans’ words focus on themes of lost loves and broken relationships with a hint of nostalgia. \u201cMug Song is all the intrusive thoughts you have when you know a relationship is ending. Romantic, platonic whatever it may be. All those nostalgic memories that flood your brain. I wrote them all down. All the simple everyday things I miss. Just being alive with someone,”<\/em>\u00a0states Orchards<\/strong>‘ vocalist. “It\u2019s the culmination of existing in turbulent environments and not feeling like you can express your feelings out loud.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

‘Mug Song’<\/em> follows\u00a0‘Sweetie Pie’<\/em> and\u00a0‘I Feel Terrible’\u00a0<\/em>, released in June and April of this year, respectively. All three tracks were released through Big Scary Monsters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Orchards<\/strong> will be heading out on a mini tour later this week.<\/p>\n
