Seattle-based outfit\u00a0Great Grandpa<\/strong> have released their second single of the year –\u00a0‘Doom’\u00a0<\/em>through\u00a0Run For Cover Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

With its odd time signatures giving the track a hypnotic feel, alongside its heavy guitars reminiscent of their early work, ‘Doom’<\/em> sees the quintet border on the edge of the prog\/math-rock spectrum.<\/p>\n

It follows this past summer’s single,\u00a0‘Kid’<\/em>,<\/a> which marked\u00a0Great Grandpa<\/strong>‘s return after five years away. Following 2019’s\u00a0‘Four of Arrows’<\/em>, the members of\u00a0Great Grandpa<\/strong> found themselves in different places (and jobs), leaving the future of the band up in the air. However, as vocalist Al Menne simply explained ‘\u201cTime passed and I missed my friends.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Now with new material out in the open, alongside shows lined up in the coming weeks and months,\u00a0Great Grandpa<\/strong> are looking to embark on a new chapter.<\/p>\n
