With Thanksgiving weekend happening Stateside, and Black Friday deals happening all over the place, today is considerably a quiet week for #NewMusicFriday<\/b> releases. Besides the 20th anniversary release of Bullet For My Valentine<\/b>‘s ‘The Poison’<\/i>, this week’s round of releases allows underground and independent bands to take the spotlight.<\/p>\n

My recommendation is the debut album from Sheffield metallers Hidden Mothers<\/b>. Having come on to my radar at this year’s ArcTanGent Festival<\/strong><\/a>, their blend of atmosphere, shoegaze, and crushing heaviness makes for a compelling listen. They’re certainly a name that you’ll be hearing more of. Elsewhere, Out of Luv<\/strong>‘s provide a raucous and snappy set of songs on their\u00a0‘Tuff Luv’\u00a0<\/em>EP, with some help from\u00a0Alexisonfire<\/strong>,\u00a0No Relief,\u00a0<\/b><\/strong>and\u00a0Dry Socket<\/strong>. Likewise,\u00a0‘Sweet Violence’<\/em> from London-based hardcore punks Chaos Reigns<\/strong> is a lyrical raw collection that tread the fine line between pain and pleasure.<\/p>\n

There are releases from Oxford nu-metal debutants\u00a0Arimea<\/strong>, Dutch post-hardcore rockers\u00a0John Coffey<\/strong>, as well as music from\u00a0Veil Of The Serpent<\/strong>, total tommy<\/strong>,\u00a0The Discarded<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n
