Berlin\u2019s Pelagic Records<\/strong> has announced two founding members of acclaimed post-rock instrumentalists,\u00a0This Will Destroy You<\/strong><\/a>, have reunited for a new project called\u00a0you, infinite<\/strong>. It sees\u00a0TWDY<\/strong> guitarist Jeremy Galindo collaborate with former bassist\/keyboardist\u00a0Raymond Brown.<\/p>\n

A self-titled album will be released through the label on February 28th.<\/p>\n

you, infinite<\/strong> is the culmination of ideas shared between Galindo and Brown digitally between Los Angeles and Austin, Texas over a three-year period.\u00a0‘you, infinite’<\/em> was recorded this past summer with Andrew Hernandez. While current This Will Destroy You <\/strong>members, Johnnie McBryde, Ethan Billips and Nicholas Huft, joined Galindo and Brown in the studio.<\/p>\n

The duo have shared a preview of the album in the form of\u00a0‘Throughlines’<\/em>. The pensive track exemplifies the electronic-tinged post-rock that\u00a0‘you, infinite’<\/em> promises to be. Its steady compelling build is supplemented by a cinematic tone that grows during its final moments.<\/p>\n

Although on the surface it certainly has a sense of familiarity, especially when put up against This Will Destroy<\/strong> You<\/strong>. However, you can’t help but feel the creative reconnection between Jeremy and Raymond having not worked together for over 15 years.<\/p>\n

Jeremy Galindo and Raymond Brown formed\u00a0This Will Destroy You<\/strong> with guitarist\u00a0Christopher Royal King and former drummer Andrew Miller in 2003. Brown would depart the band shortly after the release of their 2008 self-titled debut album to focus on his medical career.<\/p>\n

This Will Destroy You<\/strong> will mark their 20th anniversary with a UK tour in March 2025. It will see them perform\u00a0‘This Will Destroy You’\u00a0<\/em>in full. They’ll be joined by\u00a0Nordic Giants<\/strong> as support.<\/p>\n
