The original Black Sabbath<\/strong> \u2013 Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward \u2013 have announced they will play together for the first time in 20 years this summer. They will play a one-off hometown show at Birmingham’s Villa Park on Saturday, July 5th.<\/p>\n

The show dubbed\u00a0‘Back to the Beginning’<\/em> will serve as a celebration to the heavy metal legends with a stellar list of support acts. It will see\u00a0Ozzy Osbourne<\/strong> play his own short set before joining Black Sabbath<\/strong> for his final bow.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s my time to go Back to the Beginning\u2026.time for me to give back to the place where I was born,\u201d<\/em> Ozzy Osbourne said. \u201cHow blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n

As we said, there’s an impressively good list of support bands with Metallica<\/strong>, Slayer<\/strong>, Pantera<\/strong>, Gojira<\/strong>, Alice In Chains<\/strong>, Halestorm<\/strong>, Lamb Of God<\/strong>, Anthrax<\/strong>, and Mastodon<\/strong> also confirmed to play sets.<\/p>\n

On top of that, there will be appearances from a host of musicians paying tribute to\u00a0Ozzy<\/strong> and\u00a0Black Sabbath<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Billy Corgan (The Smashing Pumpkins<\/strong>), David Draiman (Disturbed<\/strong>), Duff McKagan, Frank Bello (Anthrax<\/strong>), Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit<\/strong>), Jake E Lee, Jonathan Davis (Korn<\/strong>), KK Downing, Lzzy Hale (Halestorm<\/strong>), Mike Bordin (Faith No More<\/strong>), Rudy Sarzo, Sammy Hagar, Scott Ian (Anthrax<\/strong>), Slash, Sleep Token ii (Sleep Token<\/strong>), Papa V Perpetua (Ghost<\/strong>), Tom Morello (Rage Against The Machine<\/strong>), Wolfgang Van Halen<\/strong> and Zakk Wylde<\/strong>. There are also more names to be announced.<\/p>\n

The show was announced earlier today (Wednesday, 5th February) at Villa Park by\u00a0Black Sabbath<\/strong> guitarist Tony Iommi and\u00a0Ozzy Osbourne<\/strong> wife, Sharon Osbourne. All profits from ‘Back to the Beginning’ <\/em>will be split between Cure Parkinson\u2019s<\/a>, Birmingham Children\u2019s Hospital<\/a> and Acorn Children\u2019s Hospice<\/a>, a Children\u2019s Hospice supported by Aston Villa.<\/p>\n
