{"id":98186,"date":"2025-02-19T20:40:46","date_gmt":"2025-02-19T20:40:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\/?p=98186"},"modified":"2025-02-19T20:40:46","modified_gmt":"2025-02-19T20:40:46","slug":"indifferent-engine-speculative-fiction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\/indifferent-engine-speculative-fiction\/","title":{"rendered":"Indifferent Engine Join Church Road Records and Announce Debut Album"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cambridge post-hardcore newcomers <strong>Indifferent Engine<\/strong> have become the latest name to join the\u00a0<strong>Church Road Records<\/strong> roster.\u00a0The quintet will release their debut album,\u00a0<em>&#8216;Speculative Fiction&#8217;<\/em>, on May 30th.<\/p>\n<p>Since their formation, <strong>Indifferent Engine\u00a0<\/strong>has built a tight-knit cult following from their live shows, venturing out to London and Hertfordshire. Their versatile sound embraces post-hardcore, experimental rock, contemporary prog and alternative metal. Whereas on stage, there tend to be more CRT-TV monitors than guitar pedals.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8216;Speculative Fiction&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>was produced, mixed and engineered by Tom Hill (Modern Rituals) at The Bookhouse studio in London. It sees\u00a0<strong>Indifferent Engine\u00a0<\/strong>develop a narrative based on disasters-\u00a0factual, fictional and personal. As a preview, <em>&#8216;Crashing Into A Hillside In The Dead Of Night&#8217;<\/em>, has been released today.<\/p>\n<p>With its tremolo guitars, atmospheric harmonies, and crunching bass complementing emotive vocals, it&#8217;s a compelling introduction to <strong>Indifferent Engine<\/strong>. As the track ebbs and flows, it tells the story of an aeroplane disaster.
