Emerging UK quintet\u00a0Forlorn<\/strong> are gearing up to release their debut album,\u00a0‘Aether’<\/em><\/a>, next month. Ahead of its March 28th release via Church Road Records<\/strong><\/a>, the \u201cfolk horror\u201d group have shared another track from the record.<\/p>\n

With\u00a0their past single,\u00a0\u2019Funeral Pyre’<\/em>\u00a0exploring<\/span>\u00a0the element of fire, ‘Keeper of the Well’<\/i> sees them turn their attention to water.<\/p>\n

Musically it captures Forlorn<\/strong> at their most cinematic. Its atmospheric post-metal foundation combines with Megan Jenkins’ harmonious vocals to create a wide soundscape that gives way to sharp, metallic guitars and a pagan choir.\u00a0 Of the four singles released from ‘Aether’\u00a0<\/em>so far, ‘Keeper of the Well’\u00a0<\/i>is the most impressive. Its dark grandeur creates a compelling sound to\u00a0Forlorn<\/strong>‘s expansive, progressive style.<\/p>\n

Jenkins also commented on the element of water, \u201cWater is a vital part of human existence. With the power to heal, renew and nourish, yet we curse ourselves and the creatures within by not respecting it. We must do more to honour and care for our sacred wells, rivers, lakes and oceans.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
