Serving as a goth-tinged metalcore rager,\u00a0<em>&#8216;Worthy&#8217;<\/em> is bold and empowering that intends to lift up listeners.\u00a0<em>&#8220;This song is a reminder that you are always worthy of love,&#8221;<\/em> explains vocalist Mollie Clack. <em>&#8220;Even when you feel yourself morphing into something you don\u2019t recognise. Considered to be one of the godfathers of alt-rock and grunge,\u00a0<strong>Mould<\/strong> has just released his impressive 15th solo album &#8211;\u00a0<em>&#8216;Here We Go<\/em> Crazy&#8217;. Among its highlights is\u00a0<em>&#8216;When Your Heart Is Broken&#8217;<\/em>. Aided by\u00a0drummer Jon Wurster and bassist Jason Narducy, it sees\u00a0<strong>Mould<\/strong> deliver a punchy alt-rock number.<\/p>\n<p>Reminiscent of past collaborators, Foo Fighters, <em>&#8216;When Your Heart Is Broken&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>is richly melodic, instrumentally astute, and uncomplicated in its delivery.\u00a0It&#8217;s just one of <em>&#8216;Here We Go Crazy&#8217;<\/em>s favourable moments. Co-written with Max Helyer (You Me At Six), the track is a cinematic slice of grunge alt-rock that weaves in the quintet&#8217;s goth and riot grrrl influences.<\/p>\n<p>Inspired by a period of ill health for lead singer GK, <em>&#8216;Eighteen Crows&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>sees\u00a0<strong>Venus Grrrls<\/strong> execute a wider and layered sonic soundscape. While the symbolism of crows is often related to death, GK used them as inspiration.\u00a0<em>\u201cEighteen Crows\u201d comes from a recurring fantasy I had while sick, where I wished not necessarily for death, but for a different life,&#8221;<\/em> GK explains. <em>&#8220;I loved the idea that by becoming a crow, I could let go from a body that ultimately had failed to become liberated in a form that had power and freedom in its physicality. This fantasy was a consolation for me during that time and made up many of my fever dreams in the small hours.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Now back to full. health,\u00a0<strong>Venus Grrrls<\/strong> have a busy few weeks ahead of themselves. Teaming up with producer George Perks (Caskets, Sleep Token),\u00a0<em>&#8216;Paranoid&#8217;<\/em> is a thunderous foray of hard alt-rock, elevated by its arena-ready chorus.<\/p>\n<p>The lyrical theme of fear and dread is one that Kovacs can unfortunately draw inspiration from.
