It&#8217;s led by\u00a0<em>&#8216;Tsunami Sea,&#8217;<\/em>\u00a0<span style=\"box-sizing: border-box; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;\"><strong>Spiritbox<\/strong>&#8216;s much-anticipated second album<\/span>. I wrote in detail about this record <a href=\"https:\/\/alreadyheard.com\/staging\/review-spiritbox-tsunami-sea\/\">here<\/a>. In short, I feel it&#8217;s a step up from\u00a0<em>&#8216;Eternal Blue&#8217;<\/em>, and sees a band flourishing with confidence while refining their core sound.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, Swedish metalcore favourites <strong>Imminence<\/strong> give last year&#8217;s\u00a0<em>&#8216;The Black&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>record a fresh lick of paint with\u00a0<em>&#8216;The Return Of The Black&#8217;<\/em>. It sees them expand the record with a smattering of remixes and re-recorded tracks with guest spots coming from the likes of Holding Absence&#8217;s Lucas Woodland and Orbit Culture&#8217;s Niklas Karlsson.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Black Foxxes\u00a0<\/strong>make a return with their self-funded fourth album &#8211;\u00a0<em>&#8216;The Haar&#8217;<\/em>. The emotionally raw rockers have somewhat been forgotten about with this being their first album in five years. However, from hearing a few tracks from\u00a0<em>&#8216;The Haar&#8217;<\/em>, Mark Holley and company simmer with tenderness and richness, comfortably treading the alt\/indie rock line.<\/p>\n<p>Someone else making a return is alt-rock pioneer <strong>Bob Mould<\/strong>.\u00a0<em>&#8216;Here We Go Crazy&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>is the 15th solo album from the former H\u00fcsker D\u00fc frontman. It sees Mould, alongside drummer Jon Wurster and bassist Jason Narducy, serve up a set of anthemic alt-rock songs. Rooted in <strong>Mould<\/strong>&#8216;s personal and societal fears and uncertainty, <em>&#8216;Here We Go Crazy&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>is lyrically contemplative yet thrives in its musical muscle.<\/p>\n<p>Arena-bothering rock acts\u00a0<strong>Alter Bridge<\/strong> and\u00a0<strong>Disturbed<\/strong> both celebrate album anniversaries. The former mark 20 years of\u00a0<em>&#8216;One Day Remains&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>with b-sides and live cuts. Whereas <strong>Disturbed<\/strong> bulk up their 2000 debut, <em>&#8216;The Sickness&#8217;<\/em> with two discs of demos, b-sides, and a full live set.<\/p>\n<p>Among all these returns and anniversary releases, there is also the debut album from\u00a0<strong>Michael Cera Palin<\/strong>. The Atlanta emo trio have been a name that has been popping up for several years, yet after some false starts, they&#8217;re finally sharing their first album today.\u00a0<em>&#8216;We Could Be Brave&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>proves to be 10 songs of raw and flexible indie\/emo. Songs such as\u00a0<em>&#8216;Tardy&#8217;<\/em> and\u00a0<em>&#8216;Gracious&#8217;<\/em> highlight the\u00a0<strong>MCP<\/strong>&#8216;s energetic side, only to be countered by the warmth Midwest emo sound of <em>&#8216;Feast or Famine&#8217;<\/em> and\u00a0<em>&#8216;Crypto&#8217;<\/em>. It&#8217;s one album that isn&#8217;t to sleep on this week.<\/p>\n<p>Another record not to ignore is <em>&#8216;Lullabies For Dogs&#8217;<\/em> from\u00a0<strong>Chase Petra<\/strong>. Touted to me as being &#8220;for fans of&#8221; Paramore, Charly Bliss, The Regrettes, Panic! At The Disco, their sophomore record sees the three-piece in an introspective mood. Wrestling with existential internal and external thoughts, songs such as\u00a0<em>&#8216;Centrifugal Force&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>&#8216;The Suture&#8217;<\/em> are musically warm and lyrically self-aware.
