Ahead of the release of their new album,\u00a0‘Who Will Look After The Dogs?’<\/em>, this Friday (May 2nd), PUP<\/strong> have shared one final preview in the form of\u00a0‘Olive Garden’<\/em>.<\/p>\n

It’s a sharp and heavy cut that is written from the point of view of young and naive Stefan Babcock,\u00a0PUP<\/strong>‘s frontman. Named after the North American restaurant chain, with only 9 being in\u00a0PUP<\/strong>‘s native Canada, the track began as an acoustic demo, before Babcock’s bandmates turned it into\u00a0‘Who Will Look After The Dogs?’<\/em> heaviest number.<\/p>\n

“This is a very stupid, but also wonderful song. The band get all the credit for turning it into something really special. Zack (Mykula – drums) heard my cute little acoustic guitar demo and decided we should try and make it as heavy as possible,” Babcock reflects. “Which is objectively, a very annoying thing to suggest. But you know what, I\u2019m glad I kept my stupid mouth shut, because it works. There\u2019s a real magic in the way these sweet vocal melodies are bludgeoned by a wall of disgusting, grinding, detuned guitars. The whole song is kinda upsetting and uncomfortable but also, catchy and fun. And I don\u2019t care what anyone says, \u2018Olive Garden\u2019 rhymes with \u2018Grandma in a coffin\u2019 \u2013 listen to this crap and tell me I\u2019m wrong.”<\/em><\/p>\n

‘Olive Garden’<\/em> is the fourth single to be shared from ‘Who Will Look After The Dogs?’<\/em>, following\u00a0‘Paranoid’<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0‘Hallways’<\/i><\/a>, and ‘Get Dumber’<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n
