The record is titled <em>&#8216;Better Days&#8217;<\/em> and will be released through <strong>Better Noise Music<\/strong> on October 10th.<\/p>\n<p>The follow-up to 2018&#8217;s self-titled album is produced by\u00a0<strong>blink-182<\/strong>&#8216;s Travis Barker. It will also feature guest appearances from Matt Skiba of <strong>Alkaline Trio <\/strong>and\u00a0<strong>Avril Lavigne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The news is joined by the release of its title track and\u00a0<em>&#8216;honesty I&#8217;<\/em>. The former also has a video that sees the quartet depicting iconic 80s movie characters performing in a vintage video shop. Both tracks are sure to please longtime <strong>Yellowcard<\/strong> fans, proving to be energetic, punchy, and lyrically introspective.<\/p>\n<p>Although\u00a0<strong>Yellowcard<\/strong> have been active in recent years, releasing the\u00a0<em>&#8216;Childhood Eyes&#8217;<\/em> EP in 2023, they <em>&#8220;agreed that making a new album was pointless unless it was the best of their career.&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>Guitarist Ryan Mendez brought in songwriter Nick Long (Machine Gun Kelly) to assist the band. Through Long, they connected with Barker, who also plays drums on\u00a0<em>&#8216;Better Days&#8217;<\/em>. For frontman Ryan Key, the collaborating process was significant, giving him a personal and creative breakthrough.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI started the record as one version of myself and came out the other side changed,\u201d<\/em> he shared. <em>\u201cI went in knowing I needed help. I came out of it writing songs like I was 19 again.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Yellowcard<\/strong> initially disbanded in 2017, but would come together in 2022 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of\u00a0<em>&#8216;Ocean Avenue&#8217;<\/em>. In addition to the <em>&#8216;Childhood Eyes&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>EP, the band&#8217;s material was reworked in collaboration with the cinematic post-rock group <strong>Hammock<\/strong>.
