Last Friday,\u00a0Creeper<\/strong><\/a> closed the chapter of their 2023 album, ‘Sanguivore’<\/em><\/a>, with a one-off headline show at KOKO in London. However, in typical\u00a0Creeper<\/strong> fashion, as one door closes, another opens; they announced plans to release a sequel. With ‘Sanguivore II: Mistress Of Death’<\/em> set to be released later this year, today the theatrical rockers have shared the album’s first single, ‘Headstones’<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Charging with a stylistic nod to ’80s British heavy metal,\u00a0‘Headstones’<\/em> captures\u00a0Creeper<\/strong> in arena-ready form. Ian Miles and Lawrie Pattison share duelling guitar solos as William Von Ghould duly plays the grandiose frontman. Lyrically, it maintains the band’s fascination with vampire mythology.<\/p>\n

\u201c’Headstones’ is the first glimpse into Sanguivore II: Mistress of Death. Set in a blood-drenched vision of the 1980s, it follows a vampire rock band on a tour soaked in violence and excess. It features some of our heaviest and most theatrical guitar work yet, echoing Iron Maiden, with Lawrie Pattison and Ian Miles trading solos in the bridge,”<\/em> comments William Von Ghould. “It\u2019s also the fastest single we\u2019ve released in years. Lyrically, it sets the stage for what\u2019s to come in the album\u2019s narrative, exploring the dark perils of rock \u2019n\u2019 roll, sins of the flesh, and pure evil.
