Despite a proven flair for delivering meaty riffs, the quartet aren&#8217;t afraid to utilise soaring pop hooks.<\/p>\n<p>Their new EP,\u00a0<em>&#8216;Temporary High&#8217;<\/em>, sees the Midwestern four-piece cook up massive melodies. Pairing it up with destructive breakdowns,\u00a0<strong>Archers<\/strong>&#8216; love for pop and R&amp;B shines through on\u00a0<em>&#8216;Wide Awake&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>&#8216;Better Off&#8217;<\/em>. The energy rarely lets up during its five tracks, as <em>&#8216;Never Enough&#8217;<\/em> pulsates with ambient electronics brilliantly clashing with an assured metalcore crunch. Meanwhile, EP closer\u00a0<em>&#8216;Crooked Smile&#8217;<\/em> crushes with Ben Koehler&#8217;s riffs, Grayson Mesarosh&#8217;s thunderous drum work, and Oscar Porter delivering a groove-laden bassline. That&#8217;s not to say\u00a0<strong>Archers<\/strong> are constantly going full speed ahead.\u00a0<em>&#8216;Safe Now&#8217;<\/em> builds in a balladic manner, elevating Nathanael Pulley&#8217;s cathartic vocals.<\/p>\n<p>If <em>&#8216;Temporary High&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>does anything, it epitomises\u00a0<strong>Archers<\/strong>&#8216; decade-long determination, passion, and authenticity. It is that same persistence that has led the band to cross over the Atlantic this weekend as they make their\u00a0<strong>Download Festival\u00a0<\/strong>debut. As well as being a massive opportunity for the quartet, it also gives <strong>Archers<\/strong> the chance to watch some of their favourite bands perform some classic songs.<\/p>\n<p>Before they head to Donington, we asked drummer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/graysonmesarosh\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Grayson Mesaros<\/a> to compile a list of 10 songs to witness at\u00a0<strong>Download Festival 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Archers - &quot;Better Off&quot; (Music Video)\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5I7RCkXZuCg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>PRESIDENT- In The Name of the Father<\/h2>\n<p>I am all in on this band. I love the image, love the music. I\u2019m thrilled that we get to play Download on the same stage and day as them for their first show ever. I will definitely be watching!<\/p>\n<h2>Spiritbox &#8211; Soft Spine<\/h2>\n<p>I\u2019ve been a huge <strong>Spiritbox<\/strong> fan for a long time, and I\u2019ve never gotten the chance to properly see them live.<em> &#8216;Soft Spine&#8217;<\/em> is my favourite song from their new record,d and seeing them play it in a festival setting like Download would be nuts!<\/p>\n<h2>Sleep Token &#8211; Damocles<\/h2>\n<p><em>\u2018Even In Arcadia\u2019<\/em> has been on repeat since its release, but even before the album came out, <em>&#8216;Damocles&#8217;<\/em> has been in constant rotation on my Spotify. Seeing them play such an emotionally driven song live for their first time headlining Download would be such an insane thing to witness in person.<\/p>\n<h2>Shinedown &#8211; Unity<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Shinedown<\/strong> has been one of my favourite bands since I was a kid, and even though <em>&#8216;Unity&#8217;<\/em> is kind of a deep cut. It\u2019s definitely one of my favourites and I feel like that song would be such a cool moment in the middle of a festival set. I\u2019d be singing every word for sure!<\/p>\n<h2>Nothing More &#8211; House On Sand<\/h2>\n<p>I\u2019ve been wanting to see <strong>Nothing Mor<\/strong>e live since I heard this song for the first time and discovered the band. We\u2019re lucky enough to be playing the same day at Download as them, so I\u2019m really hoping to catch their set and meet the guys before we hit the road in North America with them in 2026!<\/p>\n<h2>The Funeral Portrait &#8211; Holy Water<\/h2>\n<p><strong>The Funeral Portrait<\/strong> are some of our best friends we\u2019ve ever made through music. Seeing them play such a badass song on a MASSIVE stage would be so sick. We love those boys!!!<\/p>\n<h2>Polaris &#8211; Overflow<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Polaris<\/strong> is one of the best live bands I\u2019ve ever had the pleasure of watching. I\u2019ve not gotten to see them rip a festival set yet, though, so this would be the perfect opportunity!<\/p>\n<h2>Dayseeker &#8211; Neon Grave<\/h2>\n<p>I\u2019ve really connected with this song in the past few months, dealing with the loss of someone really close to me. Being able to sing this song along with the massive crowd <strong>Dayseeker<\/strong> is bound to play in front of at Download would be such a cathartic experience.<\/p>\n<h2>KoRn &#8211; Rotting In Vain<\/h2>\n<p><strong>KoRn<\/strong> kicks ass. This song kicks ass. There\u2019s not much more to it!<\/p>\n<h2>The Haunt &#8211; Masochistic Lovers<\/h2>\n<p>I first heard this song on Octane and immediately fell in love with the chorus!
