With temperatures rising here in the UK, #NewMusicFriday<\/b> offers up another handful of noteworthy releases. While many will be paying attention to albums from\u00a0Yungblud<\/strong> and\u00a0HAIM<\/strong>, for metal fans, the return of\u00a0Malevolence<\/strong> is hard to ignore. Having become one of the genre’s must-see live acts, their fourth album, ‘Where Only The Truth Is Spoken,’\u00a0<\/em>promises to take them up the food chain. I shared my thoughts on the album below. Today also sees Midlands crossover crew Last Hounds<\/strong> bring together their recent singles in the form of\u00a0‘Growing Pains’<\/em>. Showcasing their blistering angst with the occasional nu-metal groove, the Birmingham quintet deliver five cuts of infectious hardcore. If you want even more bruising heaviness, then there’s Bay Area heavyweights Mugshot<\/strong>. The San Jose metalcore\/hardcore juggernauts deliver their second album,\u00a0‘All The Devils Are Here,’<\/em> today.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile,\u00a0Nashville-based rockers\u00a0Badflower<\/strong> drop ‘No Place Like Home,’\u00a0<\/em>exploring relatable topics such as paranoia, regret, and loss. Ukrainian Riot Grrrls,\u00a0Death Pill<\/strong>, continue to overcome all adversity by delivering a stellar second album in\u00a0‘Sologamy’<\/em>. With the trio living in different countries due to the ongoing war with Russia in their homeland,\u00a0Death Pill<\/strong> persisted to create a diverse record that blends thrash, punk, emo, and the occasional pop melody.<\/p>\n

For those wanting some instrumental might, there is the debut album from\u00a0Hiroe <\/strong>(pronounced hero-way).\u00a0‘Wield’<\/em> by the Philadelphia-based quintet has found an ideal home on Pelagic Records<\/strong>. Their brand of post-rock\/-metal seamlessly slots into the Berlin-based label’s expansive catalogue. As for the album itself,\u00a0‘Wield’<\/em> provides a triple guitar dynamic, exploring soft and loud tones with a punching percussion.<\/p>\n

There are also releases from\u00a0Anthony Green<\/strong>,\u00a0Jamie’s Elsewhere<\/strong>,\u00a0Hotline TNT<\/strong>,\u00a0OSMIUM<\/strong>, and more.<\/p>\n
