Alt-rockers\u00a0Thrice<\/strong><\/a> have announced their new album,\u00a0‘Horizons\/West,’<\/em> will be released on 3rd October, via Epitaph Records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The band’s 12th album serves as a follow-up to 20212’s\u00a0‘Horizons\/East’<\/em>, and promises to blend cinematic post-rock textures with the raw urgency of their early work. \u201cThis is the first time we leaned into something that felt like a direct continuation, like a sequel to a previous album,\u201d<\/em> says frontman Dustin Kensrue.<\/p>\n

Lyrically,\u00a0‘Horizons\/West’<\/em> explores themes of personal identity, societal manipulation, technological anxiety, and spiritual awakening.<\/p>\n

\u201cA lot of this record is about parsing reality,\u201d<\/em> Kensrue shares. \u201cWe\u2019re constantly being influenced by algorithms, by fear, by our own social echo chambers. ‘Horizons\/West’ tries to pull the curtain back on some of that. We\u2019ve always just followed our curiosity, wherever it lead. We want to keep growing, exploring, and making something that feels honest to who we are right now.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Produced by the quartet themselves, ‘Horizons\/West’<\/em> was recorded at\u00a0New Grass Studios, with mixing and additional production by Scott Evans and mastering by Matthew J. Barnhart. Both Evans and Barnhart worked with\u00a0Thrice<\/strong> on 2023’s\u00a0‘The Artist in The Ambulance (Revisited)’<\/em> record.<\/p>\n
