Set for an October 3rd release on <strong>Slam Dunk Records<\/strong>, the record follows 2022&#8217;s debut album,\u00a0<em>&#8216;Happiness&#8217;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless,\u00a0<strong>Beauty School<\/strong> have grown since with\u00a0<em>&#8216;From Now On&#8217;<\/em> set to show their collective ambitions. Pulling influence from 90\u2019s American radio-rock bands such as Jimmy Eat World and Third Eye Blind, the six-piece combine it with a deeply personal collection of songs. It&#8217;s threaded together by a cathartic tone and a theme of vanquishing relatable struggles.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201c&#8217;From Now On&#8217; is defined by struggle, the struggle to overcome grief, loneliness, and the mental health struggles that we all experience in one way or another,&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0<strong>Beauty School<\/strong> shares. <em>&#8220;It\u2019s also about living in this strange, corporate-driven world that can feel confusing and soul-crushing at times.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Across its 14 songs,\u00a0<em>&#8216;From Now On&#8217;<\/em> touches on isolation and listlessness, substance abuse, workplace neglect, nostalgia and mortality. Simultaneously, it marks a sense of personal maturity for the members of\u00a0<strong>Beauty School<\/strong>. Frontman Joe Cabrera cites the reality of working in the music industry, balancing personal lives, the passing of family members, and\u00a0<em>&#8220;the anxiety of the rug being pulled out from beneath us&#8221;<\/em> as contributing factors to the writing of the album.<em>\u00a0\u201cThose are the themes that are woven into all the new music we have written. We are angrier, and we are changed, but we are more ambitious than we have ever been. Co-written with guitarist Dan Shaw, the track was influenced by Dan&#8217;s experience of being stuck in a mundane job and relying on substances to cope.<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The playful nature of the melodies contrasts heavily with the themes of drug use, workplace neglect and corporate life. I had recently started a job in which I was told I&#8217;d have incredible opportunities, but the reality was very different. There was this expectation that I would work harder than everyone else, putting in extra hours without any support,&#8221;<\/em> explains Shaw.<em> &#8220;When I reached out for help, it was like I was being ignored, and instead, I was given PowerPoint slides\u2026 To manage this, I spent most of my downtime smoking, and when I wasn\u2019t smoking, I was drinking to get to sleep on an evening.
