Earlier this summer, Angel Du$t joined Run For Cover Records, as well as releasing a 7″ called ‘The Beat’. Now the forward-thinking punk/hardcore group have announced a new album. It’s called ‘Cold 2 The Touch’ and will be released on February 13th.
The 26-minute-long record sees Angel Du$t reunite with producer Brian McTernan (Turnstile, Balance & Composure, Bane, Converge). It will also feature a cast of guest appearances: Scott Vogel (Terror), Frank Carter, Wes Einhold (American Nightmare and Cold Cave), Taylor Young (Twitching Tongues and Deadbody), and Patrick Cozens (Restraining Order).
Consisting of 11 tracks, ‘Cold 2 The Touch’ is described as being “eclectic and hard-hitting” as Angel Du$t show they’re determined not to be confined by subgenres. Commenting on the record, Angel Du$t frontman Justice Tripp said, “This is who I am, and I speak for the band too: these are people who are always going to be playing aggressive rock & roll. It’s happening whether you like it or not. I’m me, and if you get in my way, I’m gonna crush you.”
Completed by guitarist Steve Marino, bassist Zechariah Ghostribe, and new drummer Nick Lewis and guitarist Jim Caroll, Tripp describes the new album as “the most collaborative Angel Du$t record.” He elaborates, sharing, “The band has always been about me funnelling other elements coming in from other people–I make a lot of music based on where I feel like the collective consciousness is going.”
The announcement ‘Cold 2 The Touch’ also sees the title track being released. It gives a clear indication of the direction Angel Du$t are heading in with its galloping pace, soaring guitars, and Justice Tripp’s one-of-a-kind vocal delivery.
