Baltimore melodic hardcore mob Angel Du$t have returned with a new 7″ called ‘The Beat’. Its release coincides with the band joining Run For Cover Records.

The 7″ consists of three tracks. Its title track, which you can view a video for below, is Angel Du$t at their most venomous. It’s a sharp two-minute blast of hardcore punk with Taylor Young (Twitching Tongues/God’s Hate) adding to its aggressive edge.

A second track, ‘The Knife,’ highlights Angel Du$t‘s melodic side and pairs it with a psychedelic stomp. You can stream it below. While the physical release includes a cover of the Bugg’s ‘I Don’t Wanna Hear It’ featuring vocals from Terror‘s Scott Vogel. Furthermore, the collection sees the band reunite with producer/engineer Brian McTernan. They worked together on the band’s 2014 full-length debut, ‘A.D.’.

On joining Run For CoverAngel Du$t frontman Justice Tripp agrees that the alignment between the label and band makes perfect sense. “It was just so organic and natural. As long as I’ve been involved with music, the RFC people have been friends to me and have been showing me the ropes, but I always kind of thought AD just wasn’t their bag and never thought about asking them about putting out our music,” says Tripp. “Then when it finally came up, it just seemed like the most obvious right fit for us. I just hold them in such a high regard, and stylistically they obviously do a lot of different stuff, but I think it really makes sense: they’re creative, alternative, sometimes heavy – just like Angel Du$t.”

The release of ‘The Beat’ comes as Angel Du$t prepare for a brief return to the UK next month. They will be playing headline shows in Newcastle and Leeds, with Siff Meds as support, before headlining London’s United & Strong Fest.
