After teasing fans over the weekend, emo-rock legends Jimmy Eat World have announced three outdoor shows for August 2026. The shows in Halifax, Cardiff, and London will see the Arizona band celebrate the 25th anniversary of their classic ‘Bleed American’ record. They will be performing the 2001 record in full.
Joining them for these special shows will be Rise Against, The Get Up Kids and Jay Som (Cardiff and London only).
“When we printed the last mix of ‘Bleed American’, we felt like we had achieved something great for ourselves. There was no barometer of how it would connect with people outside of the studio and we are still in awe with the life the record and songs have had since their original release,” says Jimmy Eat World vocalist Jim Adkins. “‘Bleed American’ is as much yours as it is ours, so we want to celebrate it with you all in a very special way.”
Considered by some as Jimmy Eat World‘s breakthrough album, ‘Bleed American’ spawned the billion-streamed single, ‘The Middle’. However, there is so much more to ‘Bleed American’ than a so-called “one-hit wonder”. From urgent pairing of its title track and ‘A Praise Chorus’ through to the tender ‘Hear You Me’ and ‘My Sundown’, ‘Bleed American’ is one of the best albums of the past 25 years.
For Jimmy Eat World, it came in the middle (no pun intended) of three stellar albums; 1999’s ‘Clarity’ and 2004’s ‘Futures’. While 2007’s ‘Chase This Light’ considerably maintaining the quartet’s momentum.
